I noticed that you put your rubber pad on top of the metal saddle. Is that the proper way to do it? I removed the metal saddle and put the rubber one in its place...to keep it more low-profile. I guess it doesn't matter?

Yes, the drop speed takes some getting used to (it's quite sensitive) but once you get the hang of it, no biggie. Just don't start turning the handle really fast :) Ultgar, if you ever get any more of those orange wheels, let me know! Dan

PI Split Beam - cannot go wrong with it!

Lawnmower has been winterized, ready for storage. Snowblower is ready to go. Putting on winter tires this weekend. Insulate the water taps outside. Almost ready to go :)

Great! Thanks for that tidbit :) I'm really happy with my DK13HLQ and I agree - if I ever decide to sell it, it would have better resale value...however, I plan on keeping it for a long time :thumbup:

thanks - I ended up getting the DK13HLQ. I compared it to the DK20 and I prefer the length and the lifting height of the DK13HLQ. The only negatives are that it costs more and it doesn't have the same lift capacity but 2900 lbs should be sufficient for my needs.

Trying to decide between these two fine jacks. Both low profile, excellent quality and expensive! As far as I can see, the DK20 can lift more (4400 pounds vs 2900 pounds) but the DK13HLQ is longer, has a higher lift (29" vs 20") and can reach deeper. The DK13HLQ is also lot more expensive...

:rocker: for the PI split beam...if you only need to torque to 30lbs, you would be better off with the 3/8 drive...

Isn't the Ranger Model RFJ2TX a clone of the DK13HLQ? I might give Flema Products a call tomorrow...

Good point - that's why I was hoping some Ranger owners would speak up and either confirm or dispute Hackmechanic's comments. Not sure if Hackmechanic got a bad model or if this is indicative of the Ranger jack but I'd like to know the pros & cons before possibly purchasing one... the ATD jack...

Is it easy to remove the saddle (I have one of those square replacement rubber saddles to protect the frame)? -Dan

Since the Ranger RJF-3000LPF and the ATD-7325 are about the same price right now, does anybody recommend one over the other? It seems like the reviews are good for both....

I understand that some people might think that using an expensive torque wrench for lug nuts, etc might be overkill but I'm just picky like that. I'm going to be using my torque wrench for 3 different cars, two of them which have expensive rims and rotors so for me, I want to torque them...
