HF stud gun for pulling dents

I welded a vice grip on the end of a cheap slide hammer, then just weld little "pull plates" on the body. Works good, and cost me nothing.

    Lost a socket.

I have 3 little boys that love helping me in the garage. About 2 weeks ago the 2 yr old comes out with a hand full of sockets and a ratchet to help. I thought it was cute as heck until I put tools away that night. The 3/8 Dr 1/2" deep impact socket is still missing. It was a genius socket, and...

I thought it was better the way it was. I bought a lot back then , after the rules changed, it took the fun out of it somehow.

    Snap On air hammer help!!

The hammer, bit, and retainer all have about 2 min of use on them. I hope nothing mushroomed that fast! I'll lube the balls up  and see what happens.

    Snap On air hammer help!!

I used my new air hammer a few days ago, now I can't get the chisel out of it! It's a new snap on chisel, it went in just fine. Is there some trick to this quick change chuck, or did I get a dud?:dunno:

    New welder!!

When I was welding the panels on my 71 chevy truck, I used .023 wire. It is the way to go for sure, for welding sheet metal. It seems that you can really dial in the 211 to weld nice on sheet metal. It was a night and day difference from the cheap 110 welder that I had.

    New welder!!

I think next time I need to exchange the bottle, I will just get a bigger one. I already had the small bottle from my old 110 welder, and I thought that it would be nice to keep it portable, but I haven't taken the welder anywhere, so I'll get a bigger bottle.

    New welder!!

I would just use it on 220 if you have it available. I love my 211. I have found that the auto set works good on heavier stuff, but on lighter stuff you have to dial it in a little more. Great welder, I think you will like it.

    Open/closed wrench storage?

I use the snap on wrench rails. You trim them to fit your drawer, so there is no waisted space, the have 2 sizes, the small one works good to about 7/8 or 24mm, and the larger one works good for anything bigger. I think i go up to 34mm on the large rail with no problem. They are cheap too.

    Show your new tool arrivals

I bought a 211 last year, and I love it. How much was the helmet? It looks good, and I need to upgrade the cheap one that i have now.

Used Miller 180AutoSet or NEW Hobart Handler 190

I have the 211 also. I think the thing that sold me was the metal vs. plastic drive setup. I also prefer to have infinite adjustment, over the clicks. It is a top of the line welder, and I am happy when I get to use it.

    school me on torque wrenches

I think that there are better areas to save money than torque wrenches. Maybe save up a little longer and get a nice one right away. I have a precision instruments 3/8, and there is a night and day difference between that, and the harbor freight wrench sitting next to it. I just don't feel...

    Mechanic Time Saver Socket Holders

I love the holders for 1/4 drive. They are nice and small, and hold deep, and shallow. Just grab the set and go. In the extra holes i keep a small extension, and a universal joint.
