    Less aggressive bench grinding

Have had good results with nylon drums in a "restorer tool". Look for "nyalox" nylon flap wheels or Eastwood has a "narrow scale stripping wheel" or a drum Sent from my SM-A015A using Tapatalk

    Long time spectator

I plan on getting a salvagers license to be able to find totaled out newer vehicles for the powertrains and concentrating on fabrication. Rollcages, bumpers, suspension, rockers, etc... I have most of the tools as I've built my jeeps since I was 12. I really only could use a 2 post lift, and...

    Long time spectator

Been around but not real active in the community... times are a changin.... I'm selling the house and moving into the shop. It's a 4 bay with attached live in studio... basically heaven for me or any single gearhead right, but still could be twice as big. Anywho, I want to hear, and hopefully...

    Equipment shopping(2 post, etc)

The kicker that's really got me hooked on NAAE is these machines seem to be plug and play, like ready to go right off the truck. No accessories to buy really. Especially on the counter, it's got the jet blast assist, metal and plastic heads, plastic clamp covers, tire iron, lube bucket and...

    Equipment shopping(2 post, etc)

All the threads seem to be kinda old and I'm not really finding any "reviews" so to speak of. I am shopping for 2 posts and tire machines... is North American Auto Equipment really the best bang for buck? I can get what looks like decent stuff, a 9k floor plate 2 post, mounting machine, and...

    Refurbing old sears lathe

Heres some pics... As far as I can tell it's a "Powr Kraft" unit made by Logan for Wards, 9" I believe. Besides the motor, cords, and switch everything seems to be original and IIRC the info dated it to 1953. Heres a shot with the new motor on... (the pulley is not all the way on, was just...

    Refurbing old sears lathe

Heres the plate for the Dayton motor I'll grab a few of the lathe tonight. Also he was going to wire it up straight to the power cord... Which I said no, that aint right and is dangerous... the lathe has a built in on/off switch. Do I wire that just the same as I would wire a light fixture...

    Refurbing old sears lathe

I'll try to throw up a pic, I did take one... It is a Logan lathe actually, made for sears/ward back in the mid 50s. 9" I believe.

    Refurbing old sears lathe

Refurbing an old lathe for my grandfather and it needs some wiring done to it... the current setup has what looks like a lamp cord half wired to it! scary... He brought over a Dayton 1HP (#6K148G) motor to put on it, its not new but it doesn't look to be used at all, very clean. I know a little...

Cars falling off lifts - why?

Wow. I would have told him to eff off and called OSHA or something... Could have been your shop if something went wrong and you lived.
