    1 Car Garage in PA

BTW, I checked the Ollie's in West York for those cabinets, and they still had two of them. I really like what you have done with the place. The shelves look great!!! Jeff

    HF Double-13-Drawer Workbench

I really like the plans that you have for the boxes and the garage. A thought for the garage layout... by having the boxes at 90 degrees to each other, you will not be able to open the drawers in the corner at the same time. May not be an issue, but I know in my kitchen it drives me nuts...

    Storage suggestions needed

Ahh... that makes more sense. I thought you were going to build it in the space above the garage door (when the door is open). With where you are planning, you should be able to reach in all the way. Actually, if you do some "open" type shelving (straps across the garage, spaced about 1-2...

    Storage suggestions needed

I would be careful going back about 6-7 feet (that is about how far it looks in the pictures)... some things can be very tough to reach that will inevitably slide that far back. You might only want to go 2 feet and access it only when the door is closed.

I need to move a large rock, it's on the ground surface

I saw this on "Destruction House" on DIYTV... a boulder slammed into a house during an avalance. To remove the boulder (several times larger than yours), they drilled holes throughout the top of the boulder. Then they poured water in it. Overnight the water froze and cracked the rock into...

    Clock Conundrum

Bull, expanding a little more... you could include a Blackhawk wristwatch and calendar in the same board. You would just hang the clock you make (a cheap clock with the Blackhawk logo in the center) in the size that matches. The "blanks" are the ones you are looking for to "add" to your...

    Clock Conundrum

Bull, I think for your shop you would come up with a Blackhawk "board" that could have various clocks available on it... all outlined. You could come up with your own board number for it and explain to everyone that this is your rarest board. You could even then fill in some of the spaces, and...

I think I saw those at the West York Ollies... next time I am over there, I will take a look.

    1 Car Garage in PA

Looks real good. I like that color a lot. I'm on the other side of the river in York County. Nice to see a local garage! What type of drop light is that? How do you like it?

Building a Toolbox for young daughters.

I find for my kids (daughter - 7, son - 4) that their tools include what they are interested in and working on at the time. I started with hammers/nails and a tape measure. When they were ready for more, I then moved them up to pliers. Make sure they understand how to use the tools, not...

Design in progress: Ultimate Bachelor Pad

I know what you mean by a barn on every corner... same here (Located between York and Harrisburg). I really like the design you have laid out, especially the overhang, since that is a feature of many of the barns (it is to shade/protect the lower level where the animals are located - hay and...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

RL- I have been following your thread since the first post, and I love what you have done. It really is an inspiration. For your door, you could paint it white then put on a print (think Gustav Klimt or another Seccessionist painter) or some shop safety posters from the 50's (can never have...

2-speed rear end in a half ton pickup??

If the truck is a 4X4, you will need to have the Gear Vendor (or other splitter) before the transfer case, otherwise, when in 4 wheel drive, the truck will try to tear itself apart (similar to having 3.08's in the front and 4.56's in the rear).

    Shop Layout Suggestions

I don't have a lot of suggestions (I am still working on my own workshop)... but I have to say WOW!!!! That is awesome the art that you make. That is a lot of talent and patience that I don't have. Could you add sliding partition walls between various areas to keep dust down? Something like...

    Bull's Banditry

I happened to get a similar looking cabinet a few weeks ago... I am in the process of cleaning it up now. Does yours have a tag in the front that says "Tag"? Mine was used by the Navy to hold punch cards for the computers. Very nice size. BTW... nice scores!!!!
