    Epoxy-Coat my Winter Application

Fuzzy's thread was the deciding factor for me on my selection of Epoxy Coat for my floor. I installed it a couple of weeks ago, and it looks great. Like one of the others here I missed a couple oily spots, so be sure to degrease EVERYWHERE even if you think there's no oil. It doesn't take...

    Epoxy-Coat install complete

I'd say go for the two full kits, it's not that much more $$$. I got good coverage with my two kits, but the last section I was a little short on part B (my fault in measuring) and it took a little longer to harden. There was none left over. My opinion is that it's better to go on a little...

    Epoxy-Coat install complete

No aluminum oxide used. After reading that it only lasted about 5 years anyway I decided to take my chances. The coating isn't that slippery after all, and I have recycled tire rubber mats at the man-doors just in case it's raining when I walk in. Jeff

    Epoxy-Coat install complete

Here's a quick picture from last night. You can see that the floor is still very shiny, but it is not nearly as slick as I thought it would be, even when wet, which is good. I have put a few light scratches in it while moving in the cabinets and stuff. It doesn't seem to scratch the epoxy...

    Epoxy-Coat install complete

SCDave, I haven't looked at it again since I closed the door last night, but it will be cured enough to walk on around noon today. The pictures that I have seen of cured EpoxyCoat are shiny, almost as much as when wet. I'll try to remember to post some pics after it's cured up a little. I...

    Epoxy-Coat install complete

Just wrapped up the Epoxy-Coat floor coating installation on my new garage. The building is 24X36, slab was poured in September (just a few days after Ike hit Houston!). I had parked my old cars ('71 Javelin and '74 Corvette) inside for the last couple of months, with a couple drips that...

    Coating my floor this week

I've been following alot of the epoxy floor coating threads on the forum for the last 2-3 months, and have finally made my decision. I decided to go with Epoxy Coat brand, ordered two kits to do my 24X36 shop floor. I cleaned and etched the floor with muriatic acid before I went out of town a...

    My epoxy lessons learned

Quick question...did you grind, blast, or otherwise mechanically prep your floor before applying the coating? Thanks, Jeff

Thinking of buying a lift - BendPak XPR-10AC

Now that my shop is nearly finished I'm about ready to put the icing on the cake...a lift! This has been a dream for at least 4 years since I bought my current house with the intent to have a shop with a lift. I've read a lot of threads here on the Board regarding lifts, and there doesn't seem...

    BenPak HD-9XW ordered.

I've been thinking the exact same thing as I've read this thread....I bought my compressor about 10 years ago, just now getting around to the lift! Jeff

    Inside Siding Material??

I had about 12 sheets of OSB left over from the decking/sheathing of my new shop, so this weekend I hung it up on the walls to see how it looks. Seams are pretty tight if you make the cuts to fit into corners or other hidden places and use factory edges where possible. I have only primed it...

Long Winded, Looking for ideas, Thanks

Those look really sturdy. What is the thickness of the plywood? I have several sheets of 7/16" OSB left over from building/sheathing my new shop. If I used enough 2X4 supports I suppose that would suffice. Thanks, Jeff

    FNG from Cypress, TX

Been trolling around a couple times, thought I'd better join so I can ask some questions and participate in the forums. I've been planning my garage for about 4 years, finally started construction September 16. They finished painting the exterior last Saturday and now I'm just waiting for my...
