    The Straight 8 Garage

Going back in time about a year and a half I had an idea to build a bed set that happened to match a safe I bought that I was using as night stand. Here is my sketch with rough dimensions I took from a standard queen size mattress (more on that later) to get an idea of what I wanted to...

    The Straight 8 Garage

Hello GJ, long time reader and always thought about posting my garage but never got around to it. So now technically I’m on my fourth garage and first one I can truly call my own so I figured it was time to start documenting my projects. Bending Kydex 180 degrees?

I've done it before making holsters. If pieces allow size wise I find it best to heat on a $20 pancake griddle at about 300 degrees and when it ends up like a wet noodle consistency its ready to form in a press. I have a simple wooden hinge device made that has two pieces of foam in the middle...

It has 8" wide jaws so it might be an 8.Few old posts on here about them, seems to be little information on them in general. All of them i've come across are smaller than mine. Old Vise Brand Identification

Got this Vise last night for $40! There is no brand cast into it anywhere other than the letter "A" in several places. I plan on cleaning this up and repainting. It has a silver/gray machine paint on it underneath. Anyone have any insight on what it is? I like the offset 8" width jaws. Ed's...

How to mount outlets in steel building, no structure close.

Just did post mount receptacles the other day on a Wasterwater mechanical room. They did some backasswards building with the metal on the inside instead of drywall but you get the idea. https://www.flickr.com/photos/132495462@N03/shares/j449i5

    Big old Dawn Vise

Looking at purchasing this vice, however I know its not worth $600. He says its only 150-175 lbs, I could offer him $200. That also follows the $25/inch of jaw width. Looks to be in good shape, I think it'll lasts more lifetimes if taken care of.

    rotating in wall tv box

There is a scene in the football betting movie "Two for the Money" with a cool rotating Tv stand from one room to another. If I remember it had a simple frame around it mounted on a swivel support top and bottom in the middle.

Filling Void in Metal Door Frames

In commercial construction HM frames are grouted with structolite its like a gypsum/plaster product. However it is poured in before they are set. In your case spray in foam or insulation may be the best.
