    Favorite Budget Ratchet? Titan TIT11301 = $38

Bobcatdan... When I was a millwright back in the eighties we thought the same thing about Craftsman being the expensive brand! LOL! It's nice to hear things don't change to much in the industrial world!

If you were making a switch from corded to cordless tools...

Checkout the Milwaukee M18 lineup. I’ve owned and used quite a few different brand name cordless tools and Milwaukee so far has been great in durability, power and battery life.

Favorite / Best CORDED Power Tools?

I primarily use corded power tools as a home diy and fiy (Fix It Yourself) guy. I even use a drill and saw that my father used before he gave them to me. Both tools are from the 80's and still work great.

What is your favorite brand of vise and why?

I like my Yost vise a lot. It’s rock solid and can take a beating. It easily handled anything I’ve thrown at it over the last few years as a DIY guy with ease.

Anyone tried the new HF Welder?

My buddy bought one and we used it on a few smaller projects around his farm and my house to test it out. It worked great on each one. Definitely worth the money.

Which double offset box set? Williams vs Proto

I've had a set of the Proto industrial for years. Really nice tools to use. Granted I used them in an industrial setting over thirty years ago and only use them now occasionally for home use but I think you will really like them.

    Building garage cabinets

I don't think you can go wrong on either of your choices. I have used Freud blades in the past and they were really good. I have the 8" Freud Dado set and highly recommend it. I picked the Freud Dado set up for 25 dollars from one of the box stores. They had it marked down for clearance.

Kobalt 5pc pliers set 9.98 at lowes

I have the older set of these and they have held up great. I received them as a stocking stuffer about four years ago. I use them on my trucks and cars. I've even used them to demo and then remodel two bathrooms. This includes redoing the whole electrical portion of the remod. They definitely...

    Thorsen Wrench

Still have an early 1970's era wrench set my father bought for us to work on cars together. Used them to build my first V-8 Vega. He also bought them in the the early 70's about the same time he retired from the Military just like an earlier poster did.

    Getting socket sets shipped

I purchased sets from Cripes...great place to buy tools and Apex. Both companies took the time to properly package their sockets for shipment. I have bought some tools (hammers and wrenches) from Epsteins ...also a good place to buy tools from and they packed their stuff really nice too. I don't...

Buying new nail gun, which do you recommend?

Porter Cable. Durable and it is easy to replace the O rings in the trigger mechanism. I have four guns and had to only repair (replace an O ring) one gun in four years. The contractors around my way mainly use Porter Cable. They abuse the heck out of them and they keep on working. The model is...
