I am looking to install a WIFI hard wired Smoke detector in my detached shop with 13 foot ceilings. I have WIFI connectivity so that is not a problem. Does anyone have any experience with a specific brand or can make a recommendation? I want it to notify my apple cellphone if smoke is detected...

My new 30 x 40 x 14 pole building build, King County Washington

Well it only took a month for me to get my permit. There was a little back and forth and some minor fixing. I printed a form off and it was not legal size so we had to do that over before the plans were accepted. Monday if the weather holds, we will start the driveway. I sent my plans in for...

My new 30 x 40 x 14 pole building build, King County Washington

So it has been three months and the process is still grinding away. I have since changed my plans to a 30 x 60 pole building instead of a 30x40. Here is an update. I was in negotiations with one of the local pole building builders and they recommended I immediately go to a civil engineer to...

I thought I would start a thread on my new adventure of building a pole building in South King County, Washington State. I decided on a 30 wide by 40 feet long with 14 feet high walls. We have a six month (backlog) waiting period for building permits in this area. Everyone wants to know prices...

    Show us your welding projects

Well after checking out all the welding carts, this is what I came up with. I wanted a cart that would hold a tig, mig, and a plasma cutter. It also needed to hold two gas bottles. I used 3/16 thick tubing which is really thick, but it worked well for one of my first welding projects. The...

Welding table 6" planks with no holes or whole piece with 5/8 holes

My table is 5/8 thick. The trick is to lay out your grid first and use a center punch to mark where you want to drill. The annular drill bit has a pointer on it that you can match the drill/bit exactly where you center punched. I also got the "slugger paste" which is a paste you put the size of...

Welding table 6" planks with no holes or whole piece with 5/8 holes

Sorry I cant post pictures yet , but I went with the solid top and drilled the 5/8 holes with a rented magdrill. The total cost to do a table 5 feet long and 30 inches wide was about $125.00. 75 for the drill and 50 for the bit and grease. It takes about 1 minute to drill a 5/8 hole with a...

    Lisle 91000 proper grinding wheel

Thanks everyone I am going to try a Norton 07660788205, it is 100 grit, K in hardness, 57 A, 5x3/4x1. It was the closest one to original that Norton makes. They laughed at me when I said i wanted to try to shave down a 6 inch to make it a 5 inch. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.
