$149.99 SafeRacks 4'x8' Overhead Garage Storage Rack

My neighbor snapped his first three as well. Turns out he wasn't drilling the pilot holes in the wood. I did that for him, then zinged the lags right in. He was pretty amazed.

Well, it was warm belly crawling through the pink stuff to get in that corner of the attic, lemmetallya!

$149.99 SafeRacks 4'x8' Overhead Garage Storage Rack

The company got back to my question on this, about 16 hours after I had already hung the units. Not sure why they don't just include the info in the instructions to begin with. They did state that the combined load limit on the two combined racks drops from 1200 pounds to 900, but that's fine...

$149.99 SafeRacks 4'x8' Overhead Garage Storage Rack

That makes total sense. So in the end, I'll use all the parts except two of the ceiling brackets and two of the nut/washers/bolt combo used to bolt the verticals to those brackets. Thanks!

$149.99 SafeRacks 4'x8' Overhead Garage Storage Rack

Bought three of them the other day, have hung one so far. Pretty solid. I want to **** the other two end to end over my double door, like some of their pictures show: but not sure how they join them, and I don't have those vertical supports in the middle.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Here's mine. Sorry I don't have it in the garage yet, I have the rolling cabinet in the back of the truck still, and a neighbor is coming over later to help me get it out! 50% off through tomorrow, and a $35 promo coupon, I couldn't pass it up.

Not all trips to Sears are a waste

I'm picking up a Craftsman toolbox this week, 50% off, for $799. Probably more box than I need right now, but seems like a nice price.

New Guy in Central Texas - Austin

Here is a link to the Highland floorplan. It's not in our neighborhood, but they have the same floor plan in all of their 'hoods. This plan is flipped from ours, (Master BR is on the right side for us), and the garage is a side entry, not three car tandem, but otherwise the same. Notice what I...

New Guy in Central Texas - Austin

Thanks, folks. These forums are great; collective knowledge is usually better than going it alone, and I'll see of I can contribute myself. drivesitfar - It's a Highland model, 291F to be exact, with the usual 3 car tandem turned into a side entrance, and the oversized single added on to boot...

New Garage, Need Flooring, So Confused

Something I can apply myself, that will not heat lift, (I'm in Central Texas), and stands up well to the usual, (A/C condensation, dog claws, the occasional oil drip from a '77 Toyota LandCruiser). Nothing too demanding, I guess.

New Guy in Central Texas - Austin

Stumbled across the forum as I was researching floor sealants. Moving into a new house just a few miles up the road from where we've been living for the last dozen, and not only does it have a nice three stall attached garage, but there is an additional 1-1/2 stall detached! We currently have a...
