    Dremel 400XPS replacement

I made a trip down to Atlas tools in Toronto today and picked up a DeWalt drywall rotary too. It has 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 collets and 5.5amps. Will report how it does. They had and recommended a Makita, but only had the display model which had lived a hard life. I was a little annoyed when I heard...

    Dremel 400XPS replacement

How about this guy? The Dremels all seem to top out at 1.6 amps, this rotozip uses 1/8 ad 1/4 collets and is 5.5 amps. OK, rpms arent adjustable but i usually have it on full beans anyway. Anyone use these rotozips? Its actually 60% of the cost of dremel on Fastenal...?

    Dremel 400XPS replacement

I have had a Dremel XPS in the shop for 5 years now, it doesnt get much use as I have lots of air tools, but there are times when the weight and maneuverability of the dremel make it handy. Over the past year it died slowly, first charring the stator a bit and then today total meltdown. I...

Old Delta/AR Williams Drill Press Needs New Motor

Well after a lot of searching and experimentation I got the motor wired up right. The diagram that comes with the switch us dangerously useless. There is a V4 available for download from Princess Auto but that diagram is ALSO WRONG!. They need a version 5. I was able to fit the reversing switch...

Old Delta/AR Williams Drill Press Needs New Motor

Thanks Rick, yes Vintage Machinery has great stuff, including reference to the Leland motor. So it certainly isn't vintage, but I did pick up a 1.5hp 1750 motor with a 5/8 shaft, but I found a buching to adapt the smaller shaft to my priginal pulley so I am onmy way to reviving the drill now...

Old Delta/AR Williams Drill Press Needs New Motor

I found a Baldor model L3565M that uses the 3/4" shaft and a 3.5" base-to-center, 1 phase 1725 RPM but the cheapest price I see is $~500, and they don't ship to Canada. Any suggestions pls?

Old Delta/AR Williams Drill Press Needs New Motor

Hi all, I picked up an old old Delta drill press a couple years ago, now I really need a working press as I have a few metal fabrication projects going on. The old Bosch rechargeable wont hack it anymore. The press was really crusty, all the gears and mechanisms were gummed up. I took it...

8 Years after moving in - The Airboxer Garage

Hi Englebert! I didnt know you were over here too! Your garage is indeed a very nice place, it was great meeting you. I see you are putting the newfound elbowroom to good use, though the garage has lost a considerable amount of its 'rot' in both senses! To the forum...I bought the red coupe...

Antique Drill Press - What can you tell me about it?

Wow, thanks guys. The pulley on the motor side is smaller, so I guess I have the "slo-speed" model. There was no belt with it so I dont have anything to compare to. Any sources in/around Toronto? John

Antique Drill Press - What can you tell me about it?

Thanks guys. Yes, there is a number plate on the side, but its not legible until I get some cleaning done. Sorry, whats OWWM? I am thinking just a mild, sympathetic cleanup and servicing. My wife said it best "Its got so much character, it would be a shame to paint it all up." Yes, it has the...

Antique Drill Press - What can you tell me about it?

I've been in the market for a drill press, and had been procrastinating in hopes of finding a used one. Driving along this morning I passed a garage sale where a family was clearing out a garage after the Father-in-Law passed away. They were keeping a lot of nice stuff, but I spotted this...

I have a princessauto cabinet that works OK but I have some complaint a maybe you guys can help with? 1. I use crushed glass. I found glass .bead. To be too fine and not aggressive enough on the painted steel and mag parts. I keep the pressure under 80 psi to try and prolong the life of the...
