    Toilet corrosion

Or you can try http://www.theworkscleans.com/toiletcleaner.html The Works. Cheap, and you have to clean it anyway right? Worked wonders on our rust stains. It won't solve it permanently, but it does clean it up fast and easy.

    Help with angles...

Picture a whitewater raft. Its essentially an octagon with 2 long sides. That's the 22.5, mitering the 4 joints. The short front and rear of the raft are higher than the sides to provide rocker for obstacles. 15 degrees was a guess as I needed a number and that seemed like enough to be...

    Help with angles...

Sorry all, I probably was so wrapped up in what was in my head that I didn't explain well. Yes, this is a foot long raft made of 3/4 ID black gas pipe. I am in no way trying to make load bearing/structural/floatation/life dependent thing any time soon. It will be for her desk or mantle...

    Help with angles...

I am just beginning to weld. I have decided that the best way to have ideas for things to weld is to give the projects to people as gifts. One of my neighbors owns a canoe/raft livery on the Delaware River. I decided that a good project/practice piece would be to use pipe to weld up a raft...

    Garage cabinets

Don't forget to check you local Habitat for Humanity Restore. I found some cabinets that came out of a doctor's office. Bombproof construction and no one wanted them because they were institutional looking. I got 6 base cabinets and 3 uppers for $50. Not the prettiest, but a coat of paint...

    Mail "drop box?"

That is a bit of a difference. My wife likes my backside in its factory configuration. Do your dogs have run of the whole property? If I can drive in with the doors closed, and you're good with the box not being right at the front door, I have no problem with dogs like that. Many of my...

    Mail "drop box?"

I'm not annoyed with either. The biggest question is what do you want? The driveways that annoy me are the ones where the owners insist that I can get up the hill covered with 6" of snow.

    Mail "drop box?"

The combination lock is an easy one for UPS, I don't know about the others. I know a quite few of my customers gate codes and a few garage codes. There is a way that I can have the office put it into the DIAD (our scanner) so that guys that cover for me can use them too. All of the gate codes...

    Mail "drop box?"

As a UPS man, I say thank you. In the summer, I have no problems coming up to the house. In a winter like this its still happening. But long driveways in the snow are murder. We have aluminum body, rear wheel drive trucks that are long (mine's 27'4"). When the plow guy comes and uses his 7'...

Ideas on moving 900 pound horizontal air compressor

I moved mine, albeit smaller, with an engine hoist that I borrowed from a neighbor. I drive a UPS truck, 2 of my co workers and I had the worst time of trying to move it out of the basement. Once it was out, we hooked it up, lifted it over the side of a trailer, folded the engine hoist, put...

    Vinyl/PVC baseboard and slanted floor???

You can put a filler strip behind your trim to help it stand off the wall farther than the footing. That will leave you with a flat ledge on top that you could disguise with a piece of quarter round or cove. You can use it as an out of the way spot to run air lines or conduit too.

    Coupling nuts - lug

Ive broken the cheap crome covers off of a few of them with too much haste. Inside the chrome cover is a smaller six sided nut. If you can carefully separate it at the folded joint down by the taper you could probably weld onto the back of it.

    6-Pack Holder...

I use mine when going to somewhere that I want to bring a "better" beer than I think will be there or when its a group of beer snobs and I want to bring something different. I used to save the empty cardboard 6 pack holders. I still could, but its a conversation piece. If anything, its...
