    Looking for Suggestions on VCT

Very nice - yeah, had the same problem with the MG logo. Since I made a jig to cut the 45 degree cuts on a table saw with a diamond blade, the width of the blade made the other "half" of the tile unusable/wrong size. Out of the whole garage and two logos, only 8 tiles in the M in MG) were not...

    Looking for Suggestions on VCT

Well, I cheated - I replaced them after I stripped the floor! I left mine for 3 years without buffing, waxing, or anything - won't do that again as some of the tiles have some edge stains from the wax wearing off and fluids soaking in. As far as replacements between major stripping/waxing, I...

    Looking for Suggestions on VCT

I had the same situation as you with the seams and the concrete below the walls. I just used 4" vinyl molding along the wall after laying down the tile. As for the raised concrete at the joints, that's a more challenging problem. I used a 4" grinder with a diamond disc and ground both raised...

    2-Post lift placement

Re: 2-Post lift placement - side room needed? Have been out of touch for several years, but am back to working in and on the garage. I am getting ready to put a 2-post lift in my garage and need some practical information - how much room to you need on each side of the lift? I have a 17.5x38...

Custom Cut VCT Floor Finally Installed!

I have a lot of details to write up about this project, but just put the six coats of wax on today and can't wait to post the pics (beware of the glare :bounce: ). I cut all of the VCT myself with a 7" continuous rim diamond blade ($15 at Lowes). John

    Floor grinding not going well.

FYI, be sure to check the condition of the grinding wheel. They wear down REAL fast and when they do wear down, it will feel like using a jack-hammer the way that grinder will bounce around. John

What's Wrong With My Compressor Setup?

The regulator doesn't have to be 3/4" since it is such a short run - just make sure all of the pipe/hoses are. Check your Private Messages. John

What's Wrong With My Compressor Setup?

I used 3/4" Hydraulic hose to the regulator, then downsize/upsize the connections with bushings on either side of the regulator. Places like Tractor Supply have premade 36" pieces of that hose for $11 here in Michigan. I had mine custom made with a swivel on one end at an auto parts store for...

    Would like some opinions please....

Which has the better location? After all, that's the one thing you can't add to the property later!

    HMMM Has anyone heard?????

I have talked with them a couple of times as I am searching for the "perfect" lift. Good tech support and they are patient and answered all my questions. They are within driving distance of Grand Rapids, so that makes them the closest "discount" distributor of lifts, which is why I called them.

Best adhesive for VCT tiles? any installer references in central Florida?

Home Depot recommended the Premium Adhesive by Roberts. It will be a month before I get to try it myself - HD said it was approved by Armstrong (HD doesn't carry the Armstrong brand of adhesive, but does carry the tile).

Home Depot VCT Price Drop - $.54/ft incl. special orders

I am in the Grand Rapids (Michigan) area. I just called HD and they said they had a price increase yesterday and now they are at .66 sq/ft! I went down there and discovered that they had raised the prices on the shelf tags but did not re-tag ANY of the single tiles or boxes - they still said...

    Re-model?

I just did this with a part of my carport - Menards had a smaller, uninsulated garage door - 7x8 I think. I also think they could order custom sizes, but the $$ go up. My reasoning was the same as yours - gas/grass smell out of my working garage. I tried using double doors - much to big of a...

    Naming My Garage

Now THAT would be interesting - have seen some very interesting vanity plates when this topic comes up in various car forums.
