    On the Snap-On Truck

What tools you are going to buy should depend on what you plan to do with those tools. As someone who spent years working on cars, I bought a lot of Snap On stuff as well as other high end US brands like Wright, Proto, and SK. I used those tools 8-10 hours per day. Quality wise, I never had a...

    Tool box buy back

I think the potential buyers of the box are going to fall into two categories: 1. People who want a good box AND are fans of DE/Nascar in general. 2. People who just want a good box and don't care about the decals. Those are both pretty small groups, and group #2 isn't going to want to spend...

Does anyone else make cooling system tester adapters that fit the Stant tool?

I just recently bought the Stant pressure tester and the only adapter I need for the three cars I work on is #12025. I knew how much the adapters were before deciding to make the purchase, but before I pay almost as much for 1 single adapter as I did for the whole kit, does anyone else make one...

Toolbox with drawers that go all the way across?

I have to recommend the sunex 8057. It's technically a "cart" as the top opens up, but I had one for years when I worked on cars and it's a beast of a cart. Look it up. It has deep full width drawers. Dimensions are: 24.8 x 38.2 x 44.68 in According to the sunex website.

    Disappointed in GearWrench

I got several gearwrench items for Christmas this year. Overall it was mostly good. Everything I got was made in Taiwan. One complaint I had, and it's not too big of a deal as it's the ONLY complaint that I'm able to have, is that a 6mm socket in one of the sets had the chrome chipped off...

MAC Tools and their 99 cents

It’s just a psychological marketing tactic. Although it’s more likely to work on something that’s $499.99 or even just $499 because some people (not me, I’m cheap) see the 4 and it makes the purchase easier than if they saw the 5.

    Advance Auto Parts and Gearwrench.

My local Menards recently stopped selling gearwrench as well. Amazon has better GW prices than either store anyway, so no real loss. Unless you warranty a lot of GW. I’ve personally never warranties any.

    Tell me about bit ratchets

I have two. One is Sanp On and one is Gearwrench. Both work well, but the gearwrench has an offset and the Snap On is flat. Both sets came with sockets. The gearwrench also came with a lot of bits and the snap on just came with a bit socket so you would have to supply your own bits in that case.

Which locking pliers currently on the market hold up the best?

They cost too much for a one time use tool.

Which locking pliers currently on the market hold up the best?

Please no one say Vice Grip. I believe they make the jaws/teeth out of silly putty to cut production costs. Some brand new ones were just recently purchased by a coworker and he hates them for that very reason. I have two pairs of Grip On (that I bought a few years ago from Snap On) that are...

    "New" Tekton pliers?

Maybe it's been a few years now, I can't recall, but I remember Tekton selling some nice USA made pliers on Amazon for cheap. I picked up a few pair back then and still use them every single day at work, and they've been great. Curious to see how these newer pliers turn out.

That's what I thought too when I saw them in person. The craigslist photo makes them look worse than they actually were because the pouch is in bad shape.
