    Ratchet Handles

Matco standard flex heads are awesome because they sorta click into place instead of flopping around like my snappy flex head. If I could have a long handled ratchet with knurling like Proto, the flex notch things of a Matco ratchet and a Snapon dual 80 head I'd be in heaven.

Does a new (to me) box count?

SAE Proto ASD wrenches. Daughter wanted to borrow the 1/2.

    School me on pipe sockets?

They're common for the screw in covers/plugs on pneumatic and hydraulic valves.

    Thorogood American Heritage Boots

These are static-dissipative boots -- they're meant to ground you to a conductive surface. Do not wear them working around live voltage or you will be in a bad spot. I wear 804-4711's every day since I work in a warehouse dealing with used industrial automation equipment (drive boards, servo...

Where do you guys find 15mm, 18mm, 20mm fasteners?

Brakes on my car use 15mm for the caliper slide bolts.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Main home box; it's a mess and I need something bigger to organize everything. Lots of duplicate/overflow stuff that I need to sort out and/or add to the car and work boxes.. I'm slowly trying to replace my Chinesium but it gets the job done for now.

    Who made this wrench?

Other side is completely blank. We mostly deal with industrial automation surplus (the enclosure this was in was around 8ft wide and 7ft tall) so Proto would make sense though. Does/did Proto rebrand for other companies (other than MAC)?

    Who made this wrench?

Any ideas? It doesn't look used much. Found it inside of a large electrical enclosure we got in at work while I was taking it apart.

    Favorite low-tooth ratchet

Proto 5249, hands down. Mine was my grandfather's and is still kickin', though I had to put a rebuild kit into it recently. Super nice action, can throw pretty much any form of grease in it and it'll be buttery smooth.

    Walmart USA made pry bars?

Anybody else seen these? They look and feel like my Wilde and Craftsman (Wilde) pry bars but are a lighter shade of red. USA made too...

    What were they thinking?

The grips **** unless you're wearing thicker gloves. Teeth aren't hardened well either -- I stripped out the slip-joint pliers (hey they were free) at work and I've only had them for a few months.

I needed new picks (disappeared at work) and had a bunch of points. Total cost was like $6 out of pocket, so for USA made screwdrivers (even if the tips are probably going to be mush) and picks I can't complain! I wish I had a local Proto/SK dealer. Nothing other than Grainger and the Snap-On...

How many ratchets do you own?

I have a bunch around my house and in the various cars (emergency tool bags/boxes in every car, plus I do warehouse breakdown work so I have tools at work) so I'm just listing the ones I use at least once a month... I probably have around 10 or 15 in total. 1/4in drive -- Snap-on TM75. I found...
