Low charge, you got a leak.

    Humidity issues

What exactly tells you they are sized correctly ? For example, my system is sized correctly and I cool roughly 2900 total sq ft with a 2-ton heatpump. So saying it is sized correctly based off of square footage is meaningless.

What do you mean by "shattered" and "housing" ? Pictures ? There is no respectable labor warranty on Mitsubishi units ?

3 DIY Mr Cool mini split failures

Why not do a nitrogen leak test instead of simply filling it back up with R410A when the coil failed ?

Adding r410 to new mini split system.

One end probably has a core depressor and the other does not. I don't see how that would matter when hooking up directly from the manifold to the r410a tank though, unless it was a special kind of tank/can/container ?

Help me select a 2ton (24k BTU) mini split

All mini-splits come pre-charged. Not all mini-split *linesets* do (only the ones with "quick connect" fittings do.)

Adding r410 to new mini split system.

Max operating pressure can very well be over 300 psi. Pressure test at 400+ psi if you really want to be sure. You don't charge a mini-split using superheat, unless you can be sure it is operating at full capacity, which is not always easy to tell with inverters and variable speed fans. You...

Can I use HRV exhaust to replace bath room fan?

HRVs are used as bathroom fans all the time here in Quebec (where we get pretty cold weather during winter!) It works really good when it's done properly. I have no exhaust fan at home, just the HRV. Works great.

    Mini Split love or hate?

You either have very bad luck and/or the systems were not properly installed. I install a lot of mini-splits and most are trouble free and work just fine for 10+ years.

Best direct-to-consumer Minisplit for heating in colder climates?

Yes exactly. The lowest "regular" setting in Heat mode is 61 I believe, but the freeze protection mode sets the system at 46. People often use that mode for their garage, cabin, etc.

Best direct-to-consumer Minisplit for heating in colder climates?

I've been selling/installing the Gree Sapphire for several years now, it's one of our most popular model. It's a great system. We've had very few problems with it and the heat output at colder temperatures is great (which is why it is so popular here in Quebec.)

    Mr Cool not heating

Respectfully, I will correct you, as you are wrong. ;) Pretty much all newer heatpumps are efficient at least down to -5*F. A lot also do great even around -22*F. Heatpumps don't have aux. heat per say. The auxiliary part is not contained in the heatpump, rather in a separate unit such as a...

    Gree Mini Split not Heating

You can also check the smaller copper line coming out of the outside unit. Frost on it when the unit is running in A/C could be another indication of a low charge.
