    No wire 1 hasn't been cut off and it ran when the old plug was wired in. I believe the old plug was 3 wire also and I believe 1, 3 and 4 were used.

    I picked up this electric motor a while back and it runs good. The original plug however was falling apart. I had this extension cord that had a damaged section laying around and thought I would use it for the motor. Can I get some help on which wire goes where? I tried and it's not working...

    It is a mig and stick welder yes. To do tig you need a frequency box or something but I don't tig so not worried about that. Got it for $50 and cleaned it up and repainted the orange shell. It's a nice welder too.
