    Generator Maintenance

Drain the fuel tank, run the unit until it stops (or drain the bowl) then (and most important) out a few quarts of ethanol free fuel in the tank and run the unit for a couple of minutes. Draining alone doesn't remove all the fuel from the carb passages which will contain water and corrode the...

    2020 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

Buy a Honda, you won't regret it... But buy it from a real dealer not Lowe's. Price difference is minimal and the service from a real dealer is a big difference especially for items bought from them. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk

    Ultrasonic carb cleaning problems

We use an ultrasonic in both our shops daily. This happens with either the solution you chose (degreaser is not the right thing for this) or when too much scum builds up in the tank. If you don't want to spend for or find real ultrasonic carburetor solution (go to your local small engine...

    Epstein Day 2019

Received my order Thursday opened the box and put it with my stuff for work the next day...the forgot the box. Just some odds and ends I could use and the extractor set... couldn't afford everything I wanted as usual. Gotta say wrapping the punches and cold chisel in a harbor freight ad was...

    Husqvarna 41 leaking oil

Could be cracked tank, failed tank seam, worn oil pump, oiler hose not seated.. also could be nothing but seems like alot. Are you having the whole oil tank leak out like the tank is empty or just a pool of oil? All saws leave a bubble from what's on the chain and bar in use and it takes some...

Should I go Hilti or Dewalt?

Hilti is a unique company...they sell you in things they don't deliver. I've had documents showing repair prices in my hand and had they deny I it was so. They are not often willing to sell parts rather want you to pay them to repair items...and are challenging to get parts list and repair info...

    Chainsaws

Stay away from 0series Stihl unless you like vintage and want the challenge of repairing old things...they have been obsolete for a loooong time and lots of parts are nla. I have lots of chainsaws of various vintages and brands...they all start off cutting wood...it's how well they last (partly...

Looking to buy my first plasma cutter

May be the odd one here...but.. Co-worker has a miller inverter unit that works good on thin stuff (110vac) but stops shy of 1/4". Advantage is it's small and light. I'm still using a thermal dynamics (now part of esab victor) dynapac 110 from 20 plus years ago...severs 1/4" and will sever...

    Any ratcheting wrench recommandations ?

The teeth bite into the fastener to reduce slipping and rounding...lots of wrench companies have them..and in years past there was quite a bit of discussion on here about them. I have a set of Proto wrenches with them and a single snapon (10mm) with it...yes it will work, it does bite and it...

    Help me choose new Compressor

Your old compressor cam likely be fixed, usually piston ring wears out. New piston/ring/cylinder is reasonable price and fairly easy repair. Oil style is always better for most things, yes two stage should recover faster tho personally I don't recommend an off brand on a unit that expensive.
