    Milwaukee M12 drill brake smoked

Wasn't paying attention, water got in my drill, grabbed it and pulled the trigger, smelled electrical burn and now the brake doesn't work when you let off the trigger, it just freewheels to a stop. A phone call to the service center netted me a, "20 dollar tear down fee and we'll call you with...

How to do this rolled edge?

Thanks, I will give it a test on a short piece. That's quite fitting, the tractor is a 1919, not an International though. I do appreciate the links and help, I was at a total loss, having the right terminology makes a big difference.

How to do this rolled edge?

Thanks for the quick replies, I have access to a manual machine so it looks like it will be a group effort. Its amazing how a true artist can make things look easy. Now to see if I can find the right dies.

How to do this rolled edge?

I'm restoring an old tractor that I believe is to have a rolled edge down the sides of the hood. The good part is that the sides are straight but I don't know how to do this to make it look good. I've contacted several metal shops in the area, (Kansas City), but nobody seems to be able to do...

Homemade electrolysis. What do you use?

Every one of my projects seem to grow to proportions I never expect. I use Sodium Hydroxide, (one Tablespoon per gallon), in my tank, it cleans off all paint as well as rust. You can get it at a good plumbing supply or I did pick some up at Westlakes under the name of Thrift. I followed...

    Another Compressor comparison question

Thanks for all the help, I ended up buying a used Champion. I emailed Champion but still haven't heard back from them. I looked up the local rep., called him who gave me the phone number to the local repair shop. Just from the top of his head he determined it was branded as a Dayton and...

    Another Compressor comparison question

I found an older red, 5hp, single stage Champion, model # VSC5-8 mounted on a 120gal. tank. I can't find any spec's on it anywhere. I would rather have a 2 stage but for the price I could replace the compressor on this one. Anybody know where I can find any info?

    Another Compressor comparison question

Antique Engine, that's a good looking outfit, I would sure like to know which compressor that is. Every square inch of floor space is valuable, would like to look at that in a vertical. Sims5, thank you for the link, I am seriously considering the 7.5hp, 3 cylinder, single phase. The 74db...

    Another Compressor comparison question

Thanks, I also found the same IR unit at Tractor Supply for $400 less than the online store. I talked to a guy today that has the IR and said the noise would have disqualified it had he heard it first. I'd like to get by with a 5hp but just afraid I'll come up short and then I would be sick...

    Old Compressor won't turn on

OOPS, we were typing at the same time, you hit enter before I did. Glad you found it, one of the cheaper fixes.

    Old Compressor won't turn on

First I would re-tape the connections up. You should have over 200 volts between L1 and L2. Those wires should come directly from your breaker. Take the cover off the breaker panel and check the breaker, one lead on each terminal, if it doesn't register over 200 volts there shut your breaker...

    Another Compressor comparison question

I have to upgrade to a bigger 2 stage compressor, not a pro shop but restore tractors. Currently running a blasting cabinet that requires 10-15 cfm . Looking at the Ingersoll Rand (2475N7.5), 7.5hp or the Champion from TP, leaning toward the Champion due to stated rpm under 1000 and noise is a...

Help with a Quincy 310 compressor

I just acquired a Quincy 310 compressor, it works but seems to be slow to build pressure. Removed inlet pipe, appears to be a lot of crud inside. Was thinking of changing oil and cleaning valves but can't seem to wade through part numbers on websites to find gaskets needed. Where can I find a...
