Finally got my heater up and running last night. A little too early to tell if it’s enough for my garage. But anyway. When it turns on it makes a very high pitched “whoop” sound. Right as it lights. Is this normal? I wouldn’t think so

The reason I’m going away from a house furnace in garage besides saving space is yes they aren’t designed to fire up in cold temperatures. Not only is it hard on it but at least with mine I don’t get very good heat output until the garage gets somewhat warm say 45-50 I “pre heat” with a space...

Ordered my concentric vent kit online today. Going to look at heaters and the ducting at Menards in the next few days. 11% sale thru Saturday. Selling my house furnace in the morning so I gotta get something going now.

Another option is vent out the wall with a horizontal kit. That’s what I’m going to do. I just put a brand new steel roof on my place I’m not cutting holes in it.

House furnaces have a fairly low “air rise” temp hence they don’t blow that hot I’m sure a unit heater blows hotter air. I thought I read somewhere the air rise temp for the beacon Morris was around 60 degrees

Leaning towards the 75k. The only thing I don’t like is that it’s 3.5” taller than the 45. I don’t know how it compares but the house furnace is 75k and it does not short cycle but also the new heater will blow a lot hotter air.
