its been a long time since i'v posted on here. just wondering if anyone has tried the new IR battery ratchets. they make the ratchets in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" and impacts in 3/8" and 1/2". I bought one of the 3/8" ratchets I've not used it yet but I think that I will like it and will probably get...
I bought a tray of magnetic extensions from mac tools. he said they were new and had been selling a lot of them. seems like a good idea, I remember putting grease in a socket to keep the bolt or nut falling in a tight place. anyway they were not bad for 105.00.
Here is a tool that I made to remove the retainer nut from my out drive on my boat. made out of 1/4" steel and it took a while to cut out the 4" hole with a hole saw but it works nice. I had to cut a cheap socket in half to weld on the end for a torque wrench.
I have had this home made welder for a little over 20 years now and its still going strong. the guy that made it worked for General Electric building transformers like the kind on top of utility poles and had access to all materials that he needed. it doesn't have wire like a regular welder...
hacksaw I bought a set like that 25 years ago at a local flea market. I got 3 ratchets in one pak including a 1/4" and 3/8" and 1/2" all for 6 bucks back then and they were a no name with no writing at all on them, even the pak was plain with just clear plastic. I still have the 1/2" and 3/8"...
just bought a set of the extra long mac metric wrenches from 9mm to 19mm. these wrenches come in handy, I used them over the week end on my wife's car with the front wheel drive that is close as hell on both sides of the engine.
thanks guys. I don't think that I will bolt mine down but just use a clamp on it to hold it down cause like william I have to move mine around alot. yeah the two axis maybe over kill but I do like playing with it. I have a craftsman drill press with a laser on it which I had doubts about but...
I ordered me a new vise for my drill press from msc. it has 2 axis and seems to be very accurate. I think its a little over priced as I paid almost as much for it as my drill press at 479.00 just for the vise :scared: . I looked at a bunch for 20 bucks and 40 bucks but they looked to cheap made...
I bought a I.R. thunder gun yesterday and didn't know that it was limited edition until looking at the box it came in. does anyone else have one of these. was it a special gun or just a promotion they are running?
you will have to get 2 adpters 1" to 3/4" and then 3/4" to 1/2" to make that work and I don't know about an electric impact but I would not want to try it with an air impact. that would be like putting a 1/4" adpter on a 1/2" impact.. just too risky for me....
I have broken several taps and usally have to take a punch and drive the tap all of the way through and then redrill. these have saved me a lot of work removing broken taps. they slide into the flutes of the tap and then use a wrench to twist the tap out. very handy.
