I recently bought the Schwaben brake pressure bleeder from ECS Tuning: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben-parts/3-liter-european-pressure-brake-bleeder/007237sch01a/
I'm wondering if I might be able to find a radiator adapter to also use it as a cooling system pressure tester. It can go up to...
I made it down to my local store today to pick up the 40 piece rethreading kit from a few pages back. A big thank you to everyone who has been posting in this thread - I've been following it for a long time but my post count hasn't been high enough to post in this forum.
I got the $10 in...
I went to pick up my sockets today and they couldn't find them in the store. They said all their GearWrench already got shipped back and the part numbers now cross over to their new Teq brand. I ended up just cancelling it. There are a couple other stores in my area and they were all showing...
Thanks for this - I picked up a few socket sets last time they were on sale but I didn't get this one.
I tried to order these earlier but their website went down for maintenance when I tried to get to the cart. I finally cleared my cookies and it's back up again. It seems like their site goes...
I was about to buy a different set of locking extensions when I did a quick search and happened to find these from AutoZone. It was only $7.99 for the set. They weren't in stock anywhere around here but they ordered it in a day. They did have an individual 3/8 locking extension in the store...
That's a fair point. I read it a little differently...I assumed that somewhere along the way they got labeled as Automotive because they wanted to market it as a specialty automotive tool along with the pickles forks and other stuff. And therefore it automatically got the 90 day warranty...
I think the reason these particular pliers are only 90 days is because the package is labeled "Pittsburgh Automotive" rather than just Pittsburgh like the other hand tools. It seems that everything else in that category is also 90 days, like the pickle forks and pullers and all of that stuff.
I stopped at my local HF tonight intending to pick up some Icon sockets. I ended up not getting them. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with them, but once I was looking at them I didn't feel like paying for them when I haven't had any problems with my current sockets. They were nice...
I have the black 8 gallon compressor from HF. I've found conflicting information on whether it will be able to run an air hammer. I don't need it for anything heavy, mostly knocking loose stuck brake rotors or possibly the occasional ball joint.
According to my rough calculation, I won't get...
I picked up the black 8 gallon 125 psi compressor from Harbor Freight yesterday. I ran it through the 30 minute break-in period, and I have a couple questions now that I'm ready to start connecting things. This is my first compressor so these are probably easy answers, but I've never had to...
I used one for a while and it worked fine for me also. I haven't used it since I got a cordless impact, but I didn't have any problems with the corded one. It is pretty bulky though, so depending on where the bolt is it may be difficult to position it.
German cars with the plastic side jack points typically have a designated front and rear lift point somewhere within the plastic covers. Like this W204, for example: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Mercedes-W204/04-BASICS-Jacking_Up_Your_W204/04-BASICS-Jacking_Up_Your_W204.htm

It seems like the nut-busting figure is usually about 30% higher than the listed max torque, so somewhere near 300 is probably right. Although I'm not sure if the nut-busting figure really means much.
I just ordered my first Milwaukee last night and I had a similar dilemma to this. I first...
This was the first impact I got. It's definitely unwieldy, but I mainly got it to remove ball joints that would spin freely by hand. It's worked fine for me but I'm in CA with no rust to deal with.
I have the HF shallows but I got the 14 piece GearWrench deep set for just this reason. They're hardly even more expensive when you consider you're getting 4 more sockets than the HF set.
