Ok here's a update. I bright home some electronics cleaner and blasted the motor then pulled the capacitors and idk what but something has made them it's home and laid eggs and after cleaning that out it runs a lot better

Basically it has a really hard time starting, as in barely turns over for a few seconds then it just doesn't seem to build pressure or turn over very fast.
I just got home but I'll take a pic of the motor id tag in a few mins

Hey guys,
My 80 gallon 5hp cambal hausfield compressor has slowly been getting weaker and weaker over time and I think the motor is getting to be on its last leg. My question is has anybody ever put a bigger motor on their compressor to get more out of it? Also could the reason my motor is...
So basically the latest is, I talked the guy down to $150 and he claims it works great and he just put new belts and pulleys on it. Not to sure about the new pulleys but whatever. The biggest thing is it's over a hour and half drive to get it. Should I keep looking or is it worth the drive?
She said she'd love to do a project like this as long as I helped her.
I do almost nothing but metal work. And thanks for the pointers. My current press is just way to small and it ***** in every way lol.
I can attest to that in way. We have a ancient (at least early 50's) Rockwell delta at work and it works good but does have some slight run out but has been very abused and leads me to wonder if a press could ever be repaired to it's original state if it's been abused.
I found a craftsman I...
Hey guys,
I've been looking at buying a bigger drill press to replace my small and under powered skill, and I've been looking at all the old drill presses on here and I'd like to find a old walker turner or craftsman just for the cool factor and it'd be a fun project for me and my future wife...
Sorry for the lack of info, I didn't wire anything out there so I just don't have the info.
I know the 5th wheel is on a 30 amp breaker, and the only other thing that really pulls any real power is our compressor but it won't be running much.

Justsam; sorry I meant the same panel. And thanks I'm ready to start using it, and no I plan on buying a dynasty 200 for all my aluminum welding.
Sberry; it's 56/52 amps on 208/230 at 250 rated output.

Hey guys,
I just bought a new lincoln powermig 256 to start doing some fabrication jobs out of my parents house to make some extra cash. They have a detached 50'x30' shop that I do all my hot rodding out of. Well my dad is concerned that we won't have enough power to run both my welder and...
My girl (soon to be fiancé) is fully supportive of my tool addiction, I just bought myself $600 worth of sockets off the matco truck for my bday... It was really almost $800 worth but my matco dealer is awesome and gave me a set free for my bday! But she just doesn't understand why it's so...
Spray foam on the inside?
We had a quote along time ago to have the building foamed but the guy said the roof had to be sealed or it would just seep through the foam and cause even more problems.

Hey guys,
I've been trying for a while to seal my 30x50 metal shop. I've tried silicone multiple times in spot that I can physically see where it leaks but it never seems to help. Anybody have any suggestions to a half way cost effective way to seal it up?
Thanks
Kody

I figured it could be a good alternative just for the fact that it would last longer. I'm not so worried about my tools sliding around cuz I general keep them in they're trays for now at least.
