1958 Powermatic 90 lathe spindle threads

Actually it seems to vary, I assume due to differences in threading on accessories. My smaller faceplate is just over 5, the larger faceplate and adapter exceed 6.

1958 Powermatic 90 lathe spindle threads

The faceplates arrived and both fit without issue. I also got a spindle adapter to go from 1.5 to 1.25, which I thought was needed to direct thread on my Nova G3 Chuck, but it appears that may be 1.5x8? I used an insert with my old lathe (Harbor freight 10x18) I can't seem to find confirmation...

1958 Powermatic 90 lathe spindle threads

I guess when the face plate arrives I'll gingerly try to see if it will thread on and if not set about doing some repair. Thanks for the tips.

1958 Powermatic 90 lathe spindle threads

I recently purchased a PM 90 lathe on an auction. This didn't come with a faceplate (have one on the way) and I don't have a Chuck that will direct thread on it given the not common size (1 1/2 X 8). Upon inspection of the threading it seems that the first couple threads have been flattened. Is...

    Powermatic HJ-12 jointer

I was curious if it was at all related to the Jet JJ-12, which also seems to be scarce in info. (given the Jet/Powermatic relationship.)

    Powermatic HJ-12 jointer

It also doesn't look like any powermatic I've ever seen. Rebrand maybe? https://goo.gl/photos/bWi68LLYycY84SMt7

    Powermatic HJ-12 jointer

Has anyone ever seen a Powermatic HJ-12 jointer before? I can't seem to find any reference to that model anywhere online. I see one on a local auction (painted white at some point). It has a powermatic tag with that model number engraved.

    Looking at table saw options

1.5 would have been enough hp for me, I wasn't sure what that did to its value, I know many people want 3-5. I'm working out of 1/2 a 2 stall garage, so any whale of a saw is out of the question.

    Looking at table saw options

I've been researching my options for replacing my benchtop table saw. I was surprised to read that many folks say the cabinet saws have less of a foot print than contractor saws. I've been looking at craftsman 315 and 113 saws given their availability and price. Came a cross this unisaw (paralok...

    Craftsman 315 table saw

This is the craftsman I'm talking about (didn't realize it was also on eBay) http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251798658407 I saw that delta, wasn't sure on that fence. There is also a unisaw by me for $500, 1.5hp, but given the fence size on it I'm not willing to give up...

    Craftsman 315 table saw

Craftsman 315 table saw value? I'm looking to buy a contractor table saw to replace my small craftsman. The craftsman 315 series seems like it would be adequate for my needs. Prices on CL seem to vary greatly. I recently missed out on one for $150 (sold immediately, probably priced at low end)...

    Older Craftsmans

I like that the 3/8 has the wheel to thumb turn. Off the 4, that's probably the one that I'll actually use. The others I got because they were available and cheap, and I like old USA stuff. Maybe they'll push my other craftsmans to the travel bag. I rarely have a need for 1/2 and use the...

    Older Craftsmans

Picked up a few older craftsman ratchets and a breaker bar at an estate sale ($12 for the lot) haven't used them yet, but my initial impression is that they feel considerably better in the hand than the more recent pre-China ones that came in a kit I bought.
