I wonder if the lift was stopped at or cable failed between “catches” or lock points and one post failed to catch fast enough on the way down?
I “grew up” (father had one in his shop) using the old style 4 post lift that had a single external cylinder mounted on top of two posts with chains...
Just to work on your paranoia, link to a recent Utube video on a Corvette being rescued from a 4 post lift whose “latch” on one post seems to not have latched…
Slightly off topic, I thought “antifreeze” now sold in the USA had the something really bitter-tasting added to keep kids/animals from being attracted to the sweet taste. Vaguely remember reading about it 10 or so years back?
Hard to cheaper or easier than an air fitting screwed on a hardware water hose fitting, blow for a minute and you are done. I keep mine hanging on the pressure washer so I do not lose it.

As suggested in the tread, I sent a note to Permatex and asked them what should/could be added to their NS when it thickens. As one would expect, Permatex said nothing should be added to their NS... big surprise!

I have a couple containers of Permatex Anti-Seize and both have thickened up on me to the point that I need to thin them with something. My first idea was just to use plain old motor oil... any other suggestions?
BTW, the tops are kept tight!
That I believe is a 30 amp "RV plug" as my family's old Airstream came with it and an a adaptor to convert it to a conventional socket... I still see sockets for them in older RV parks. Any RV shop probably has it or a adaptor to convert it.
