I have a HF tire inflator set up for presta valves on mountain /road bikes and the gage was never even close to working correctly. I found a digital gage on Zoro with a 1/8npt thread and measured what I could on the HF POS. I thought 1/8"npt was it. I wrapped the new gage with some Teflon tape...
I'm looking at getting a co-axial centering indicator for work. They range from $100 to $900. I'm not interested in spending a lot since it's my money and the place I work won't buy one. I found those 2 around $250-280ish. They look identical too. Any thoughts are welcome...
This is kinda what I did. I chucked on the material and locked the spindle. We have a jacobsen chuck in the tailstock. I put a bolt in the tail/chuck to push flat on the die. Turning the small die handle with one hand and the tailstock wheel with the other for the first thread or two. It worked...
I'm familiar with tapping, but what's it called when using a die? Dieing? Tapping? Or just threading? Curious...
Second, what's the way you're supposed to thread a rod with a die? Aligning it is nearly impossible. I do have access to a small lathe and Bridgeport. I'm trying to thread the...
My buddy has the Scout and loves it. I have a Ragley Blue Pig 27.5, 150mm and it brought me back to why I love riding!
The DVO is on my 2017 Devinci Spartan.
My other ride is a Devinci Wilson. All are 27.5
DVO topaz! The guys there are great to deal with. I got the custom tune last year. It's great cause it does what I wanted my Rockshit to do that I had custom tuned by Avalanche. That shock never did what I wanted it to do and Craig @avalanche wasn't too great to deal with either.
What's your ride?
The threads that are purple are what the tool is for. It's going to thread ontp them to pull that whole green cap out of a rear shock. Since there's no where to grab it, this is the only way to remove it.
I have a schrader valve tap coming in this week. But I need the drill size for it. Google doesn't seem to be much help. Any info would be greatly helpful. Thanks, Larry
Fwiw, this is for a tool to make working on bike shocks easier.
About 14 years ago when I started working in a metal shop for the first time, I had to purchase some of my own tools. I ordered an 8" Fowler caliper, but a guy that had his own shop gave me 3 mics of his. He told me that he goes to the flea market and looks for used tools. He then pulled out of...
It's funny how a good company can make a bad product and get bashed and trash talked till they fail (craftsman). But a ****** company can make a better item than they previously did, and they get a pat on the back and succeed.
