As stated above, this is a CT meter socket. Think like your clamp on voltmeter to check amps. You are not physically breaking the wire when the meter is pulled. You will have to install a disconnect switch if you feel the need at the metering point. As stated before, there should likely be a...

Space heaters to run off generator help

I don't know if a large propane tank is an option? As a power company employee, I would look into a gas fireplace with a modest sized dual fuel generator. Getting a huge generator will burn through a ton of fuel. Natural gas may also be an option with a tri-fuel generator. All electric is nice...

Pole Barn Insulation - stacking foam boards, acceptable?

I did 1 1/2 between the girts, then 2" esp over that. Great-stuff foam the seams. Then I decided to fill the void with faceless rolls of insulation. No regrets but time consuming.

    Insulation: Vapor Barrier question

I used 1 1/2 between the girts, then 2" xps over that with seams foamed (buy the gun, u wont regret it) then unfaced insulation to fill the rest of the cavity. No poly on the inside. I am happy with what I have. I have taken a heat camera out several times and have been satisfied. I can faintly...

Who pays for trees that damage power lines?

If the tree damages the line as a result of a weather related event it will be considered an "Act of god". If it is the result of negligence, such as home owner or contractor damaging lines or equipment attempting to remove a tree it would be their dime.

    Fiber pull in 3/4 conduit

This ☝️. The worst part about the 1 1/4 is it'll probably cost more than the fiber right now!

    Fiber pull in 3/4 conduit

I've considered this but I really don't have the contacts out here in the sticks to get that accomplished. This was all a mute point until I got Starlink and was exposed to the world of high speed internet.

    Fiber pull in 3/4 conduit

Surge protection is really the only reason I'm considering it. I know Cat6 would be more than capable for what I'm requiring. The fiber just seemed like an interesting project to tackle. I absolutely agree fiber is the only way to go for GJ.
