That gap is your friend, it will keep the floor from buckling when the temp rises. There is a lot of expansion with these tiles. Lester

Don't let me sway you either way. Both Garage Trac and Racedeck scratch the same and both will mash out and deform under a floor jack even though the Racedeck is a little beefier with it's understructure . Both failed me side by side, but still better than unpainted concrete. Lester

Garage Deck will not hold up under a Kwiklift, under the feet or under the jack, unless you use something to spread the load. My 2400 pound car has made a warped mess under mine. Lester
