Just acquired a new to me Reed 105R. The slide has been beat on quite a bit to where it cupped the metal some up close to the jaw. I cleaned it up removed the paint and see no evidence of any cracks anywhere on the jaw or slide. I guess the cupped metal doesn’t hurt anything since it slides in...

Helping a friend restore an old post vise. Anyone have any info on the brand? I took the wire wheel to it and couldn’t find any markings. The spring is messed up because it won’t spring out.

The vise itself did not interest me as much as the cast in writing. Just very curious about its origins. I didn’t understand the bv1 and bv2 unless they are just part numbers??

I just saw a vise for sale looks like an older REED marked national defense school on one side. Anyone ever heard of this?? They advertise it as a Wilton but don’t show the other side.

I am working on a vise stand from semi brake drum. I wanted to make the top mounting plate capable of bolting various things to it. I read through the stand threads. Wondering if anyone came up with a slotted hole pattern that would fit most bolt patterns.

I added the pictures in my post above but was also lucky enough to find a wrench on eBay yesterday. Will just have to fabricate the wire retainer.
