    6pt vs 12pt

12 point sockets are often thinner (walls) than 6 point. On large-ish rusty fasteners, you may be able to get better engagement with the bolt as the 12 point will seat easier. However it will also have a higher risk of rounding the bolt. It is usually better to wire bush the bolt and seat a 6...

How Much Have You Spent On The Snap-On Truck Thus Far?

Certainly over 1k as a diyer. But most of that is covered by a used Solus. I was looking for a DRB2 but a couple mechanics I knew strongly recommended against it. Oh and garage journal, so one must have snap on ratchets, etc. :)

    Your favorite ratchet ...by SOUND

An old mastercraft 58-9899-2, 50ish tooth 1/2 drive round head ratchet. However least favourite would be much easier to answer: pro-point 144 tooth round head... Had to replace it, the sound bugged me so much.

How many ratchets do you own?

    31 12 - 1/4 10 - 3/8 7 - 1/2 2 - 3/4

    Why combination wrenches?

I actually agree with the OP and would prefer a set of opens and a set of long box. However like most I started with combination wrenches and added the others as I went on. Primarily, due to cost and availability at the time.

US General 44 - worth the exchange rate?

Actually, on that note, does anyone know if the milwaukee/dewalt boxes are international value series? I have never looked closely enough... If they are demos are common at home depot and Canadian tire.

US General 44 - worth the exchange rate?

That tier of international box can be commonly found at Princess, rebranded as propoint. They often have demos out. I picked up a top to go with my harbor freight 44. The slides and such are better on the international but the construction feels more stout on the harbor freight. The lack of...

Quickly expanding my collection of Gray Tools. Does anyone know who makes the Robinson drivers? Kinda funny to see USA Robinsons in a set of Canadian made screw drivers. :) Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

diy top coat gun, ANi or DeVILBISS

Compressor is capable of smaller jobs with an HVLP and some patience. Currently in a rental and stuck with 110V 15A. I'm running about the biggest pump I can within that limitation. So yes, LVLP would be better, but havn't found much around this tier other than the Astro Pneumatic EVO4014. I...

diy top coat gun, ANi or DeVILBISS

Lol, please keep in mind that I am in Canada, not the US. Sharpe FX3000 @ Amazon.ca = $369.62 Sharpe FX3000 @ Amazon.com = $109.18 I'll look into that one a bit more through. Which ANi guns have you used and what issues did you have?

diy top coat gun, ANi or DeVILBISS

Sorry for the confusion, the "diy" was intended to indicate that this would not be for pro use. Although, a diy top coat gun build would make for a more interesting thread.

diy top coat gun, ANi or DeVILBISS

Hi, I am currently in the market for a new top/clear coat gun to replace a failing mastercraft set (Canadian). Options are somewhat limited up here and I have more or less decided on the ANi F150 Plus S HPS. However Napa has a DeVILBISS Startingline kit on for a tad bit more money. (I already...
