If you guys are talking about the aluminum trim that came on the 60/70's red and grey boxes, I found a site about 5 years ago that still sold that trim. Can't remember the name, but it was a Craftsman tool site. I bought seveal new pieces for about $4 each.
I know some of you guys are looking for one of these. This one is in Indy.

Looks close to the same edging used on the Craftsman red/grey boxes. I bought a couple new pieces about 4 years ago online for boxes I was restoring. Can't remember the site, but do a search for craftsman tool box parts and you should find it. May not be an exact match, but it might be better...
O'reilly auto parts sells a system that has a bowl and aerosol powered canister so you can spray your own paint, it's about $9 IIRC. Propellant cans are replaceable and they carry those, too. Never tried it as I have guns and compressor, but for small jobs it looks feasible to me.

It takes more equipment, but I built a blacked out Sportster bobber a few years ago and sand blasted all the chrome so I could powder coat it. That worked good enough for the coat to stick.
