    Question about Jack Stands?

The redesigned stands are supposed to be night and day different than the old ones, yes?

Pneumatic brake bleeder for a beginner; which one?

This one might work on the rear MC, but the front MC is rectangular. I’m not sure this one would work.

Pneumatic brake bleeder for a beginner; which one?

Yep, I wish it was more helpful at bleeding brakes. All the FJR seems to do is make me smile!

Pneumatic brake bleeder for a beginner; which one?

I’m looking for a good pneumatic brake bleeder for a beginner. A friend has a Cornwall unit that he used on my FJR and it worked great! I’m considering getting one like his, but what are the differences between good ones & bad ones? Do the better one pull more vacuum? How can you tell which...

    Butcher block work bench top?

Well, I looked at the countertop and it was pretty flimsy. It was about 7/8” thick and not very heavy. But….a free commercial wood door popped up on Craigslist. So I grabbed it. This is a beast! It’s about 75-100 pounds (I’m guessing; it’s a damn heavy door). It’s 7’ x 3’ x 1-3/4” thick. I’ll...

    Butcher block work bench top?

That’s what I’m concerned with, it denting and getting dinged up from being too soft. I don’t think this is an actual hardwood like oak or maple.

    Butcher block work bench top?

One thing that’s troubling is my buddy says it’s not 1.5” thick like what’s advertised; it’s 1”. That worked for them, but he know I want it for a work bench, and didn’t want me to think it was thicker than it really it. Would this be a deal killer? I suppose I could always add a layer of...

    Butcher block work bench top?

My buddy is holding it for me. I’m thinking of getting it, definitely.

    Butcher block work bench top?

I have a small work shop that requires a work bench to be set up as needed. I have a chance to get this for free; yes…free. I’m curious to see what you guys think of for this as a work bench (supported by two saw horses). I’d mount a vice on the corner, or make it removable (not sure yet)...

    Drawer dividers for Tool Chests

Here’s the one I’m using for my mini screwdrivers, along with the ones I got from work before they were tossed.

    Drawer dividers for Tool Chests

I'm adding to this thread rather than starting a new one. I've been using the silverware trays from places like Target and the office drawer organizers from places like Office Depot (or snagging them at work when I can). These make great organizers for small items and are pretty cheap to buy.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Wait...we're not supposed only buy tools when we need them, right? I thought we were supposed to buy tools "just because."

My late Dad’s Gerstner Tool Chests: Refinishing Project

Good idea. I noticed that too. I guess it came off over the years he was using the boxes.

My late Dad’s Gerstner Tool Chests: Refinishing Project

True. My Dad took great care of his stuff. For being as old as it is, I've seen many others that are trashed. You can tell he took care of it.

My late Dad’s Gerstner Tool Chests: Refinishing Project

Excellent ideas, guys, on cleaning it up vs refinishing. Obviously, it's irreplaceable, so if I can avoid any damage from refinishing, I'll try that first. I'll order some of the cleaner that you recommend. I'd like to polish up the drawer pulls, corner guards, latches, and handle assemblies...
