I also love the estate sales when I can find them. Not the best luck at garage sales.

I agree, get there early, make friends with the dealers. People over look tools, clean them up on a wire wheel, little polish and they are good to put back into service. Old ratchets that are stiff or do not move, take them apart clean them and give them some lubricants.

I went to my local store today and was turned down. They had the set listed for $89.99. I did pickup a set for $59 due to the website. Still a good deal.

Put them in a tumbler with some metal polish, it cleans they in not time.

You have to do what you need to do to get the job done and keep the honey happy.

I am working on cleaning my garage and lowering my tool hoard. I have a number of each of the below that I would like to pass along to other tool lovers, rather than sell on the BAY. Would like to trade for old Craftsman sockets and wrenches or S&K, ratchet parts. Will sell at a fair price also...

Thank you, not sure, trying to repair an old SK ratchet. The ratchet is great but missing the retaining ring.

Hi All, I could use your help. I have an old Craftsman thumbwheel 1/4 ratchet. THe ratchet is great but the retaining spring is bad and needs replacement. Can someone tell me where I can find one or the proper name for the little wire spring like retaining ring? Thank you in advance for your help.
