    Show us your welding projects

My very first welding project was fabricating a seat bracket for my car, from design: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153758933970472&l=0a78e71279 to the finish product (I did paint it black before installing): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155377756365472&l=251c481f84...

    Scissor lift in sloped garage...

All depends how the ramps are built. Looking at photographs on the internet, some seem to anchor them to the floor, some attach the ramps to each other around the lift.... They could be built to be easily removed once the car is on the lift.

    Scissor lift in sloped garage...

The wooden ramps are required if the vehicle doesn't clear the lift when driving over it.... the Bendpak is 4.75" when lowered, unfortunately my exhaust comes to approx. 3" to the ground.

    Scissor lift in sloped garage...

The more I think about it, the less I think this will be an issue. The issue I will have will be clearance... I will have to build ramps on each side so that my car clears the lift. Will the lift damage my epoxy coated floor? I can see it scratching it, any chance of the epoxy cracking under...

    Scissor lift in sloped garage...

TheClaw, what kind of scissor lift is that?

    Scissor lift in sloped garage...

Can't really shim it.... I don't think it's a huge issue since my drain would be in the center of the lift. I'm not concerned with the mobile end (with casters), it's more the static end, I'm thinking the bar (or leg shown in TheClaw's photo above) would only touch at each end. As soon as I...

    Scissor lift in sloped garage...

Anybody ever install a scissor lift in a sloped garage? By sloped, I mean towards a center drain... I have a 12'x20' single car garage, the concrete slab is sloped towards a center drain. What kind of lifts are people using in this situation? For example, would a Bendpak MD6XP scissor lift...

    Harbor Freight Scissor Lift

Thanks for the info Kevin! The grey one from HF at $1000 is interesting to me at 3 7/8" to drive over... with a 39" lift height... for $400 extra, the Greg Smith raises to 53"!!!

    Harbor Freight Scissor Lift

Interesting, I like this thread, I was wondering the same thing about the Harbour Freight scissor lifts. Greg Smith Equipment seems like a good option, works on 110V and doesn't seem to be back ordered... My concern is the height of the lift to drive over it... my car is very low. I guess I...

    Maxjax Installs: Post Here

God I want one of these!!! I have a drain in the middle of my garage and the floor drains to it all around... wondering if this light slope would give me a headache trying to shim the two posts? How much can these posts be shimmed? :-\ Oh and M. petee_c, I see you are from Canada, where did...

    Is this possible?

I do have one circuit for the heater (220V) which is a double breaker (30amps I think) which is also for my only receptacle... I think. And one circuit for the 2 double florescent on the ceiling and one receptacle on the ceiling (for garage opener)... I'll check when I get home. Yes, the wire...

    Is this possible?

Ok, long story short.... when I built the house I got the contractor to add 2 double florescent lights in the garage. But seing how much space was wasted because the ceiling in the garage is about 12' high, I built a 12x8 plateform for storage.... problem now is that the plateform is blocking...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

I'm thinking of painting the foundation walls aswell... only alternative I see is screwing some 1"x2" framing to the concrete, placing rigid styrofoam between the straping and installing dry wall... seems overkill for such a small heat loss...
