Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

Thanks, here are some additional photos. Looking closer, it appears the copper washer is not flat and the bearings could have escaped. Should I put them back into the cylinder and flatten the copper gasket? It appears that the cylinder is threaded to the hydraulic unit, not sure if I will...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

This is a Daytona unit. Should I just take the existing seal and ucups from the pump pistons to a local hydraulic shop for them to match or has anyone sourced a kit for the Daytona super duty jacks? I’ve read that the menards/northern tool jack may utilize the same seals but have not been able...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

Does anyone have a diagram for the hydraulic unit? My jack was not holding weight and I was looking to see if I could rebuild it. When I removed the main ram and drained all of the fluid, 2 ball bearings fell out and it is not obvious where they go. Also, the end of the piston had some...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

Has anyone sourced a seal kit for the Daytona jack? I picked one up at a garage sale that’s leaking fluid and won’t hold any weight. It looks like it was stored outside but it was cheap so I figure it was worth the buy.

    Rebuilding drill press motor

I have a craftsman 150 drill press I am working on and wanted to rebuild the electric motor. It is a GE 1/3HP motor, model #5KC47AB1391X. I can't seem to find any information on getting replacement parts for it. Once I get it apart, I should be able to measure the bearings but I do not know...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I plan to list them separately. I might clean up the top box a bit more and repaint it. Who knows, I may even keep the top box if I can find space for it on the bench If I can get $100 for the bottom as is, I'd be happy. It just doesn't work too well with the space I have.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thank you for the replies. As for the top box, I did not clear the box. I just wipe it down with wd40 from time to time and so far it had held up pretty well.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I am thinking about selling my vintage boxes. I moved to Indy and am planning on integrating a bigger tool chest into my workbench. What do you guys think is a fair price for them? SnapOn KR-558C that was used in a family owned shop in Maryland. Box is still solid but shows wear. The...

Kobalt Crossform Wrench Sets - 80% off

Do they make this wrench in 19mm? I'm really considering picking up a metric set but I wish it had an 19mm instead of the 18mm.

    EASCO Ratchet

Thanks, I was able to get the broken snap ring off. I ended up using a pair of surgical hemostats since that was the only thing that would fit. Anybody got any leads on where to find a rebuild kit for the 1/4" ratchets? I only found the 3/8" kits on ebay.

    Vintage 3/4" Snap-On Ratchet

You're right, it is a 5/8". Looks like its a HD7 ratchet and it could be from as early as 1923. I got it soaking in ATF, hopefully I can get it to break loose. I don't think an evaporust bath will do too much, should I just take a wire wheel to the handle to clean up the rust?

    EASCO Ratchet

Not enough clearance to get in there with pliers.

    Vintage 3/4" Snap-On Ratchet

Bought a rusted 3/4" ratchet at the flea market today. Trying to get more information and figure out what is the best way to free it up since it is seems to be frozen. It doesn't have an obvious screws or anything to take it apart. There does look to be 2 pins that are pressed in the head...
