    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 14x21 wood and metal shop

Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! It can be a struggle managing a smaller space but it's doable. Keeping it clean is important. I do want a few more machines that I haven't figured out how to fit, but that would probably be the case regardless of shop size.

The new bench is quickly becoming my go to spot in the shop. I added a 24" x 36" Fiskars cutting mat. I had to cut it down to 36" x 20" but it's nice to work on. I also found a deal on an old Lambda LA-200 variable power supply and bought a new Weller WE1010NA soldering iron. Coming from a...

I'm slowly but surely getting things in order. The metal cutting bandsaw has been mounted under my welding table. I also hung my air filter and wired up the rest of the lighting. I still need to get lights over the new work bench. I also found a spot for a 20 ton press. It's a tight squeeze next...

Thanks! Yes, it has a steel leg on the opposing side. That's actually the flooring I laid in our house. I did it room by room, when I got to the last room, lowes had discontinued the flooring when I needed about 200 sqft more. I searched 6 or 7 stores looking for leftovers. The last store I...

Thanks! One of the benches is cherry, the rest are made of walnut.

Thank you! Making furniture is definitely my main hobby but I like to tinker with other stuff as well. Yes, the shop is attached to our pool house which has an hvac system. The shop has two ducts that keep it fairly climate controlled. The roll up door loses more heat/ac than I'd like but it's...

I finally got around to making the extra work bench. Loving it so far!

US General 26" wide toolbox organization?

I use these for sockets in the 5th or 6th drawer of the bottom cabinet. Can't remember which exactly. I love the 26" US General boxes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N7ZHQLL/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Tap and die set

Thanks for the advice so far. I didn't know a restorer/chaser set was a different thing. I think I'll start with that Lang set posted and add as needed.

    Tap and die set

Anyone have recommendations on a good tap and die set? I'm currently looking at this Century set. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BY7QCDC/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Most of my work consists of cleaning up old threads but I will be cutting new threads occasionally. I know I can buy nice taps/dies...

    Made the switch to DeWalt

Wow, this turned into a Shitshow of a thread didn't it. Dewalt makes good tools. I've always avoided buying them because I hate yellow, but using them, they've been on par with Milwaukee and Makita. I have the Milwaukee lineup, I like the ergonomics but I'm only mildly satisfied overall. COO...

Circular Saw Choice. Corded or Cordless?

I've had this saw for about 10 years now. Never an issue, been very happy with it.

This is one of my favorite shops on here, great work! Those vidmars will look great all white

Unlike a lot of shops here, mine is not vehicle-centric. I don't think I could fit a vehicle in my shop even if I wanted to. I primarily make furniture. Here's a few pictures of furniture I've made in the shop. I also built this little camp trailer which we enjoy. (Though technically I built it...

Thanks! I agree, I enjoy seeing the larger shops and wish I had one, but it's not in the cards any time soon. A smaller shop definitely takes more dedication to keep it organized and useable. It easily turns into an unusable mess.
