update: It looks like Short run will be fixing the issue for us free of charge :) A bit of a waste of our time, but they're taking care of it. Depending on who you talk to they handle business. Just venting frustrations before.

Thanks guys....I'm pretty sure they contract their work out to someone else. I'm almost positive actually. So yeah, if I could find somone local it would be cheaper no doubt.
I don't know if anyone here has experience with www.shortrunpro.com, but I have had enough with them. I currently use shortrun to make my brackets in large numbers. Recently I wanted my brackets to have the edges round off on my brackets. Short run, when redrawing them decided to change the...
Thanks for the info. I didn't think it would be much of a problem to cut and bend since it is aluminum and not mild steel or anything too hard. That strapmaster looks like it does everything I need, but won't hold up. I noticed that it could twist, another thing I could use.

Edit...
I've been looking for some time, but haven't found anything small enough. I don't need a large break and shear right now. I'm making small 1/8th inch thick x 3/4 inch aluminum brackets and need something to accurately bend and cut. Any suggestions would be appriciated. Right now I'm using a...
well I contacted XRP in an attempt to become a dealer/distributer but they didn't seem interested unless I have a storefront. Kind of disappointing since they will be losing money by driving me to one of their competators.
1320stang, I'm with you on the look of the fittings. I'd rather them be either black or aluminum finish.
So what you're saying is the cheaper fittings are not really re-useable. I'll have to check that site with the used fittings, seems like a good deal.
Thanks for the replys. These lines will be used for oil lines to oil coolers. -10 to be exact. The push-loc style hoses do not use clamps of any kind and are reuseable. The hoses can not be re-used if you want to remove the fitting from them though, but the fitting can be.
Hope that makes...
I'm going to be purchasing a decent amount of push-loc style AN fittings and line in the near future and was wondering where everyone purchases their fittings? I was looking at JEGs fittings which seem to be priced decently, but was hoping to get some kind of discount on bulk purchasing. Any...
alright so basically
Belt drive - the motor is mounted away from the saw blade and handle
Direct drive - The motor is mounted pretty much right next to the blade and on the handle
Just for future people who may be as thick as I am :)
wow, this is some great info...I really appriciate everyone taking the time to explain everything.
Scott,
Do you have an example of a direct drive saw? I was looking at a few different miter saws and none said either belt driven or direct drive.
