    New toolbox organization project

I'm finally ready to roll this out with some limited stock. Available at https://hsmprecision.us/ I've added red socket pegs, and will be adding ratchet holders, and the finished screwdriver holders in the next few days. Thanks, Matt

    New toolbox organization project

Mounting sideways is an interesting idea - I'll have to look at this more closely. I have not looked closely at casting, but again, that in a good idea. There is quite a bit of waste in machining, especially the 1/4in drive ones, that would be saved when casting. On the other hand, I can load...

    New toolbox organization project

Thanks all for the comments. Cost has been my concern as well. These won't be HF cheap, but the pricing won't be stratospheric. My goal with this is to take advantage of fixturing and automation, to make production the most efficient possible. And, my machines are paid for, so overhead is very...

    New toolbox organization project

Having looked at some of the grid based tooling storage ideas, and having a milling machine in the garage, I decided to take the concept to the next level. Goals: -To build the ultimate clean, high quality tooling storage using the grid concept. -No plastic - needs to look and feel solid, and...

    GERBER 274x file

You can load a Kicad PCB file directly into OSHPark to have 2 or multilayer PCBs made. I've done fairly dense 4 layer PCBs, as well as very fine pitch flex layouts (50um line/space) using Kicad. The learning curve is a bit steep though, as is with all EDA tools. Matt

    Auto AC question

Thanks to all for the responses. -I'd planned on replacing the dryer, which appears to be a cartridge that goes into the condenser (as far as I can tell from looking at the parts diagrams - teardown will confirm). -Condenser will be on the shopping list, as well as metering device. -I'll be...

    Auto AC question

2013 BMW 528 - was driving along, and the engine stalled (and I think I heard a pfffft sound). When I restarted, no AC at all. Brought the car home and parked it. I checked pressures a few days later, and the system had bled down to 0 pressure. I added a minimum of 134a, and did a leak check -...

A good inline inflater with clip on chuck and deflater

Not quite what you are asking for, but check out the Milton inflators. I just got a 506, and it's really, really nice (especially compared to the kobalt one I had that self destructed). Ebay has pretty good prices on new ones.

    Real thailand hand tools ?

I'm still kicking myself for not buying a bronze wok when I was in Phuket. (although I got a bronze griddle that is really nice). If you are in Phuket, just east of the mall on the main street, there is (or at least was) a hardware/cookware shop. Look in the back - they had some, as well as...
