5) I use the rubber mats used for storing music CDs, as found at Ikea. They're only about 3/8" thick, hold 20 files each, and are dirt cheap. The rubbery plastic makes it easy to cut a divider out if you need a slot for a wider file.
With the combination check valve/unloader I got for my compressor, it is normal for little pulses of air to come out while it is running. It's a small hole, maybe 1/32". I don't know if this is true for all combination valves.

I have one about that size. I agree with Chevy, It won't do things like ball joints but I have found it useful for bearings, races, U-joints, etc.

Yes, you could find the a leak this way. But newer cars may have a very complex arrangement with dozens of places to leak. It would help to know the circuit, so to speak, to isolate where to even check for the leak.
