There are a lot of great options for exterior floodlights that is well documented. Has anyone used these lights successfully inside?
I currently have been using (6) 4-bulb T5HO's with high polish reflectors in my 30 x 55 shop. These are set at 15'. The light is good but it's not "daylight"...
Hey all-Thanks for the reply's! As noted above, clamping the door while vertical won't work. While this may work on a standard garage door, this is a commercial overhead door! These doors are too heavy and only the bottom panel is designed to hold the vertical weight or the door at one...
Hey all:
Open to suggestions on replacing the bottom panel of my garage door:
Not a good night last night... I tweeked the bottom panel of my shop door with the mast of my forklift (doh!). I still functions but it's definitely damaged. It's a 14' x 14' CHI insulated door with metal skins are...
Thanks for the replies:
To address a few comments, the condensation only happens a few times a year when we temp swings from very cold to very warm in a matter of a few hours, especially when the dew point is high. This is usually accompanies by high winds as well. Anything metal is wet. The...
Thanks for the reply. I was following the same logic. I would rather leave it out and have a less efficient envelope than create problems. I was not in a hurry to do the project but the temp changes are creating a lot of condensation on everything in the shop (cars, toolboxes, ...anything)...
I think I have read ALL of the insulation threads but have a few questions around proper insulation. I know this has been beat to death so I will keep it brief and would anticipate the responses to be the same:

Is anyone familiar with PolyPlank foam? This is a closed cell polyethylene foam. I am able to source 2" factory seconds at a pricepoint that is a 80% less than I could buy the blue or pink EPS for. The sheets are 4x9 which matches the pole spacing of my pole barn. I would be using in the...
Thanks for all the suggestions and advice. I was able to diagnose the problem and found additional wiring gaffs from the prior owner. All is well and the compressor is back online!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the reply. He had it wired correctly albeit with wrong color coding of the wiring. When I wired it into the panel at my shop, I followed traditional wire color coding (green nuetral, red L1, black L2) however his whip had green at L1 and red as ground!
So basically I wired it...
I'm, hesitant to send this request due to it being the result of assuming on my part. Bought a new (to me) Gardner Denver compressor. I wired up the power whip yesterday afternoon and noticed on startup that the motor started up slower than expected and that the rpm was maybe a little lower than...
This brings up a second point:
If I were to foam the entire building including the underside of the roof, would this cause a potential sweating problem in the attic if I still installed a steel ceiling on the bottom side of the truss cords?
The rigidity is a great point. I was trying to get the best of both worlds gaining a totally sealed wall while avoiding the full cost of the spray foam for the entire project. I am wanting to finish the barn with a metal ceiling fastened to the bottom cord of the trusses so was planning to use...
Hi, I am new to the forum but should have come here several months ago. I have been building a 30x54 x 18 pole barn in my spare time doing most of the work by myself but have had a few willing hands to help with the concrete finishing, heavy framing trusses and perlins and hanging the longer...
