I actually have my other top plate leaning against the wall, just haven't nailed it on yet, and yes I am planning on overlapping the corner.
SO, just nail a 2x6 to my exterior wall studs then attach the joist to that?

I decided to frame up a 8x5 bathroom in my shop and I am to the stage where I need to put a ceiling on it. The reason I didn't go all the way to the top of the shop ceiling is because I wanted less space to keep heated.
My question is how do I attach the ceiling to the exterior wall...

The exterior is finished and there is vented soffit, so this gap leads to a covered, vented space.
My main concern is air flow into the insulated cavities. Does this even matter?
I assume a big gap like this make the insulation a lot less effective.
