    Wiring a 2 post lift.....

Thanks for reply......what is sjo cord? Also, is there a discernable sound or click when shut off bar switch is activated? What is the need for the twist lock receptacle......as opposed to standard 5252 receptacle? Any chance that when you are bored sometime you could post a photo of how you...

    Unusual Tips and Tricks

pilot bushing removal........put wheel bearing grease in the hole in center of pilot bushing. Use a steel rod, etc. that has an o.d. just smaller than the i.d. of the pilot bushing and put it in the hole of pilot bushing. Use a hammer to whack the rod, and as it goes into pilot bushing, the...

    tubing benders, JD2 vs. Pro-tools ?

Sorry to be late to the conversation, but I'll add in there a Mittler Bros. Machine and Tool air over hydraulic unit.....many nextel cup shops have them, and I've had one for over ten years..........all his fabrication tools are first rate and worth the higher price........ Keith

    purchase MIG vs TIG?

I'll submit that if you intend to be doing projects and welding for a good number of years into the future......and if you can afford it or wait until you can afford it......a Mig welder in the form of a Miller 250 or whatever their current equivalent is would be an ideal way to go. It has a...

    drywall/gyprock

I'm currently doing my interior drywall ......still........ am using 5/8 inch on the ceiling as code dictates it and I want it. The only problem for me is that I'll have more seams as I'm only using 8 foot sheets because they are quite heavy and I'm not accepting help. Thirteen foot sidewalls...

    New Garage 28x30

The builder that did my framing didn't require payment ahead of time, just enough to get him started. I bought my own lumber package and most other items, but I was into him for thousands in labor and concrete and blocks. However, he was still owed fourteen thousand when he finished......we...

    Compressor sale: HD, Lowes, Sears?

Scott, I ordered it direct from Eaton Compressors......they sell on ebay as well but can order at same prices direct from them. I also ordered one of their air hose reels to mount off my lift that I picked up not long ago so we'll see how well it holds up, they claim they use theirs all day...

    Radiant heat vs conventional

My understanding with radiant floors is that you need more to worry about moisture transfer than heat/cold transfer. There are products out there that are designed for under slab insulating......check out northwest ohio foam products for some good insulating products........

Storing tires and wheels from wall in garage

I haven't built one for my new shop yet, but in my shop I had in st. louis which was actually a pole barn frame.....I fabricated metal c-channel that fit over the uprights of the building, drilled through the upright and from this welded 1 3/4 inch round tubing much like that suggested from...
