And you would need a splice box to connect the wires if you go that route

You should only need power to one side of the light. The other side is usually a dummy just to hold the light bulb up. So just jump the hot to the two sockets and same for neutral,they should push onto the socket that comes with the light bulb.

Switch the black wire with the white wire

Wouldve been alot easier to just get a remote fan kit

Some trims use compression clips to hold them up,that may be your only option. But i find with them the old style trims are bigger than the new led ones so you see part of the old trim

That style yes,you will need a new can. Or you can replace just the bulb to led. Where in north jersey are you,i live in passiac county and could give you some pointers if your close one day

Your better off scrapping them,i havent installed trims like that in many years. Its all led trims now
