You should only need power to one side of the light. The other side is usually a dummy just to hold the light bulb up. So just jump the hot to the two sockets and same for neutral,they should push onto the socket that comes with the light bulb.
Some trims use compression clips to hold them up,that may be your only option. But i find with them the old style trims are bigger than the new led ones so you see part of the old trim
