    Ceiling vapor barrier

Hi, I'm currently finishing my insulation with the roof and I was wondering what I could do with the vapor barrier since my garage doors are already installed. I mean the rails are already bolted to the trusses with lag bolts. Should I remove them(just doesn't seem good to remove lag bolts...

    Wheel Dollies--for ROUGH concrete

I used some heavy duty 5" casters to make generic dollies and I moved my car with it. Really smooth and a lot cheaper than good quality wheel dollies. But since I don't have a welder, the frame is quite high but at the same time, I only move my car sideways two times a year.

    Overhead Storage

Here's a thread I posted about the exact same question: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20730&highlight=overhead+storage I built it and listened to others suggestions and used 2x6s. I will post pics soon in this thread to show how it came out. I is perfect for my use.

    Overhead storage

I already have a bunch of 2x4s and try to keep the cost down to almost nothing. I do not have the tool to work with steel yet and it would probably be a lot more expansive than some wood. I plan to eventually do the same along one side of the garage which would be like 20 feet. At this time...

    Overhead storage

Forgot to say every middle support and cross support will be tied with simpson's strong ties.

    Overhead storage

I'm getting better with sketch up and drew another version that with actual walls and mesurements. It would be supported on 2 walls, the back one and on one side. With two cross support. The greatest span between two supports is 7' 3" which I think is reasonable with doubled 2x4s on the front...

    Overhead storage

Thanks for the replies so far. We can't see it on the drawing but the front 2x4 is doubled. If I were to double the two 2x4 on the side too. Would it be strong enough to hold like 3-400 pounds 12'x3' can hold a lot of stuff. I could make third support for the middle if absolutely necessary but...

    Overhead storage

If I were to build a structure like the one above out of 2x4 and the length was lke 12 feet for overhead storage. Over work bench. How do you think it could hold weight wise ?

    Best tool for umbilical cords

Plasma cutter. I don't think we could bring any tool to do "this" job.

What OSB do you use in a garage ? What did you use to caulk the joints ? Really nice garage BTW !

    Ultimate storage solution

That is awesome !!! I have a garage exactly the same size and was thinking of doing something like this but didn't really know how to do it. I have 2 questions for you. What did you use to secure the back 2x4 to the wall, it seems to be bolts. Do you think trusses can hold that much weight easily ?

    How much do I need

Thanks, I may still look to upgrade to be on the safe side but if I can avoid it, it'd be better. On the welder/compressor issue, is there switch rated for 30 amps for example that we could plug the welder and compressor on the same circuit and ensure we always use only one at a time...
