I actually picked up this little 3/8”s drive Proto last week same place with the Cresent Pliers. $4.95 each for the ratchets and $1 for the pliers. This guy keeps an awesome spread of old stuff on six tables in two booths. Word is this is the leftover stuff he can’t sell quick from estate sales...
Was looking through some old tools and forgot I had these lol. Looks like maybe a set of open ends and a set of box in W. The open ends are labeled W/BS which is cool too. I think I got these from my wifes grandpa who used to work at the Bendix plant in South Bend probably in the 50’s-80’s.
These are the older ones I have although would love to pick up a few more... Never enough! I'm always worried about getting them so full the wheels collapse but then again I managed to stick a bare 302 engine block in bottom roller for a moving trip across country and that didn't kill the...
Could they have been company made? I could see a railroad for example making their own tool lockers 100 years ago. I'm sure there could be other sources as well.
I'll add another although this is the Philson tall tackle box I just picked up.. All Aluminum with 12 folding trays cork lined. Brown wrinkle paint is pretty much gone from the outside but luckily no corrosion. All folded out, this one spreads about 55 inches lol. I found they did make a 14...
Most recent pic, 1969 vintage Rockwell 11 inch with the long bed flame hardened and all that. Set up with a 12" deep shelf behind it to sit the boxes on.. Need more boxes lol Pic is too low to see my Occasional flying tools sign hanging above but I never leave the key anywhere near the...
Was just down in Eufaula OK visiting relatives and hit the local antique stores and found the Powr-kraft drill at the last one for $15. I’m guessing 1930’s but haven’t had a chance to research it. Might be able to shorten the cord up if it’s not too stiff as well will see. Love finding nice...
My line up of machinist boxes full of stuff for the lathe, nothing new either. The Huot still needs its door put back on but I repainted it as it was painted red with a brush when I got it. The Kennedy was my grandpa’s and the Craftsman I picked up years ago with a bottom unit of the same...
Thanks Guys, appreciate the feedback. I'm warming back up to it. We'll see if I land it. It would be a good home for my growing pile of early B&S, Starrett and other Mic's.
Went back today and snapped some pictures. Its a 7 drawer 40 but either had the leatherette removed or was a version without it. I don’t think it’s worth $120 but what do I know lol
I forgot to mention that the front door is painted black and has a metal U channel installed around it's edge...
I was goofing around today and stopped by one of the antique stores I frequent and noticed a wooden machinist type tool box. It had the Pilliod decal on the bottom drawer. So when I got home I tried to look for some info on the company. I got lucky and found this link...
