    Need some help getting unstuck

got it. put it in the freezer overnight and heated the body up. I couldn't get anything behind it to pull up the low side without leveraging off the body. There really wasn't any easy way to grab and extract it either. The only way I could think to get it free without damaging an important...

    Need some help getting unstuck

I was thinking maybe something to pull up the low side after the heating/cooling, rather than hit the high side down??

    Need some help getting unstuck

Sorry about that. I attached a part break down and circled the part that is stuck in the gun. Its the end plate that holds the bearing that is stuck halfway down to where it is supposed to sit at the bottom of the gun. I made an approximate little red mark on the body in the photo. The spot it's...

    Need some help getting unstuck

Not entirely sure how I managed this. This is an IR 231A. I tore it apart to clean, lube and replace all the gaskets. I've got the gasket kit, so I started reassembly. I warmed the body up with propane torch similar to the way I did when removing the piece . It didn't drop all the way in, so I...

3” Wilton Bullet 9300 [ restore ]. What size jaw screws and horseshoe collar screws?

Just in case anyone is wondering, you can use a 3/4 length for both! Original jaw screws are Filister head 1/4-20 5/8 and horse shoe screws are small pan head 10-32 5/8. Thanks for the thread! Just found one to fix up. Wire wheeled it, cleaned up some of the casting marks, coated in BLO and...

All you ever wanted to know about gasoline Blowtorches

It was a hidden screw that was on there pretty tight, so I assumed it was pressed on. Soak it in some penetrating oil if you're having trouble unscrewing it. Once you get it off, you'll have to replace the cork in the check valve and make sure the spring has enough tension. Stretch the spring...

All you ever wanted to know about gasoline Blowtorches

made some more progress... unscrewed the wick tube with a pipe wrench. I would definitely recommend heating it or using a penetrating lube, as I slightly dented the tube when removing it. Then pulled the screen out and cleaned it. Any idea what the 2 small screws are for? I can seem to find any...

All you ever wanted to know about gasoline Blowtorches

morph0711 I believe that would be the wick. I attached a pic of where mine is attached. you should be able to unscrew the long wick tube and you might be able to replace it after you do that. I suppose you could drill it out as well. I would assume if you want the blow torch to run continuously...

Hey guys just picked up a blow torch and im trying to get it running. Would love to take apart the check valve and replace the seal, but I cant figure out if there is an easy way to remove it. I attached a picture. I cleaned everything else and the only other thing id want to replace is the...

help using modern wire wheels with craftsman block 6" grinder

Got a couple better pics. I have a wheel similar to the one notlob posted. Although it doesn't sit on the threads, it still doesn't run smoothly. The washers fit quite well and I tried to square it up before putting it back on, but it still isnt perfectly centered. I might try the card stock...

    advice refinishing vise

So i ended up just cleaning it up, putting some johnsons wax on it, and a thin layer of grease on the screw. The angle grinder with the cupped wire wheel helped with the residual black, but the black coloration came back after I put wax on it. Thanks for the help guys!

help using modern wire wheels with craftsman block 6" grinder

So Ive taken apart, cleaned up and upgraded this old craftsman block grinder that I got a while back. I wanted a fine wire wheel on one side and the grinding wheel on the other side. After lots of searching, I found a solution for a fine wire wheel that didnt have the little 5/8 to 1/2 arbor...
