    Craftsman wrench 5/16 & 8mm

When it comes to industrial tooling you will see dual stamps, on our 1" drive Proto sockets the 1.25" also has a 32mm stamp, 1.375" has 35mm stamp and 1.5" has a 38mm stamp as an example.

    Polished concrete garage floor

At my previous job they polished and sealed the floor in the new shop bays and well it looked great until early springtime when foggy mornings would turn the floor into an ice-skating rink from a mixture of the moisture condensation and the fine mist of oil that covered the floor from the CNC...

Do I Really Need 18,000 BTU to cool 670SF?

None, the existing building is a poorly made stick frame with vapor barrier and siding. If I turn the AC off when its 95F outside it will quickly jump up to the 90's inside, like under 2hr. The plan was to build a 30x40 metal building and insulate it but loan rates are stupid right now.

Do I Really Need 18,000 BTU to cool 670SF?

The current building has **** for insulation, basically the AC never shuts off for long so it does dry up after a while.

Do I Really Need 18,000 BTU to cool 670SF?

For a garage you will want to go over as most people don't 24/7 cool them, that extra capacity gives you the ability to cool down faster. I have a 1200 sqft garage and by the numbers a 1.5 ton minisplit should do it but it takes around 4hr to go from 100 to 75 with that unit, I added another 18k...

    Rigid Aluminum Airline Choices

Black Iron pipe likes to grenade once it becomes fatigued from pressure cycling as it has much lower ductility than other materials like aluminum and copper. Personally I did my garage in 1" copper and have no regrets, it is easy to work with and will easily hold far greater pressure than my...

Nesting Mechanic's tools with Kaizen question

At work we did Kaizan tool holders for all tool stations, foam mats for the tool boxes and shadow boards for bigger workstation tools. The best foam we found thus far that has held up is the puzzle piece floor foam mats you can get at walmart for like $2 a piece. We stacked them up two deep and...

    Need a new Pressure Washer

I purchased a DeWalt 3800 PSI pressure washer 3 years ago and I would not recommend. The Honda GX engine is very fuel sensitive and has a serious issue with ethanol, the carb has had to be rebuilt 2x already and will need to be again as it again will draw fuel.

Anyone else made a bug screen for 2 car garage that is moveable?

In my old house I made a fan fold frame and stapled screen to it. It was 2ft tall x 2 car door wide, could easily fold it up and store under a shelf to the side when not in use. Looked for pics but can't find any (pre cellphone).

    rod storage

If you are worried about the weld quality and are storing the rods for long term you might want to look into a rod oven. Short term storage to keep clean and dry, get a 4" pvc pipe, solvent/glue, some pipe caps, some threaded cleanouts and threaded plugs and make your own. I made up a few and...

Flex lines for greasing ball joints. Crazy yes, but would it work/help?

I design control systems for refineries and we often sell a centrally located lubrication manifold to hit all the hard to get to lube points. We also offer an automated lubrication system that you hook up to tubes, buckets, or barrels of grease that is triggered before system actuation. Most of...

How do I prevent welding table corrosion during a long move?

We spray down all machined carbon steel surfaces with Zep Iron clad, it holds up well for long term storage.
