Wrench Recommendations? WrightGrip, Proto ASD, Etc

I have several different brands of wrenches, SK, Snap-on, Cornwell, Blue point, Matco, Mac, Husky, Performance tool, Kobalt and of course the obligatory Craftsman USA. Of those, the ones I grab most when it matters are the Snap-on flank drive and the Cornwell version of flank drive. That being...

    pliers and grips recommendations

I know this is an older thread but wanted to update my opinion on those Mac compound Pistol grip pliers. After believing that I had to have them and using them for the past few months, I've come to the conclusion that they are lacking a bit in the gripping surface of the plier. They do not hold...

    Wheel hubs/Tone Rings puller

As Rlfd said, heat the ring and use a 3 jaw puller with a race/bushing driver as your base for the forcing screw. Make sure it's not cast as one piece first. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

TOOLS - When is Enough, Enough

To say that you can't ever have enough tools is a ridiculous statement. For the person who does not use them or does not know how to use them any amount of tools is too much. All that being said... I can't seem to have enough. In my free time I check out videos to see if there is something that...

Best value metric combination wrenches? Wrightgrips?

Do yourself a favor and spend the ridiculous money on a set of Snap-on flank drive wrenches. They're the last wrenches you'll ever buy and you can have confidence that they won't round off fasteners. There is no substitute for quality and as was said... The money, time and aggravation that a...

How many ratchets do you own?

Here is an updated pic post tool cleaning/putting away weekend. These 22 are in my main box and what I use regularly. There is another drawer in an older chest full of craftsman, duralast, sk, etc that doesn't really see daylight. I think there is somewhere around 10-15 in that box. Sent...

    Flare nut wrenches?

Do yourself a big favor, buy snap on line wrenches or flare nut crows foot. The first fitting you round off with budget line wrenches will convince you just a bit too late. I prefer to pay now for the tools than to pay later by extracting nuts and bolts and re-flaring lines on a vehicle. Sent...

    KC Tools Knipex Cobras.

Thanks for the heads up and the extra 10% off code, I just bought more tools that I definitely don't need and don't have room to store. These 4 in addition to a cobra 12" and cobra hose clamp pliers that I ordered this morning. Oh and a few pairs of knipex pliers-wrenches in the smaller sizes...

    Recommendations on hand tools?

If you're willing to drop the cash, do yourself a favor and buy Snap-on. 1/2" impacts, 3/8 and 1/4 chrome. A long 1/2 comfort grip, 3/8 flex head and 1/4 swivel head ratchets. A set of instinct screwdrivers, a 3pc set of pliers, and a set of flank drive combo wrenches. Irwin vise grips, bondhus...

    Pry bars enderes vs.Mayhew?

I've had my Mayhews for about 5 years and they've been great, if I was to need another set for some reason I would definitely buy them again. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    one man brake bleeder?

I use a double tiered approach for solo brake bleeding. I have a motive pressure bleeder and a check valve hose like op is asking about. Takes about 20 minutes to do a complete bleed and flush. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

How are the 3 row socket trays? Do they take up excessive space? I have semi deep in 3/8 & 1/4 and have been contemplating a 3 row tray. I'm just concerned that it will take up too much space in my already jam packed tool boxes. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

it's useful to carry a mostly complete set of tools in your car

I keep a very complete set of cheaper/spare tools in my jeep along with fluids and spare parts. Mostly for offroading. I have had to remove a ring gear when it gave out, repair hydraulic lines & add fluid for hydro-assist steering, replace and bleed broken brake lines, replace front axle and...
