@ nbruno:

Really liked those MAC compound long reach pliers! Due to your post, I found

Loews has a single IRWIN VISE-GRIP Bent Compound Long Reach Pliers for around $15:

I'm very happy with the Mac compound long reach pliers, I have them in both Pistol grip and straight handle. Just used them yesterday to reach under a low clearance bracket to disconnect a coil pack plug that I screwed around with picks and long screwdrivers for about 20mins. Pliers to the rescue and in 10 seconds it was done.

I know this is an older thread but wanted to update my opinion on those Mac compound Pistol grip pliers.
After believing that I had to have them and using them for the past few months, I've come to the conclusion that they are lacking a bit in the gripping surface of the plier. They do not hold well at all. The shape, size and reach have been extremely beneficial and they've been exactly what I've needed to get a job done on several occasions. However, their inability to grip a fastener, work piece, etc is very disappointing.
Most of the time I use them to remove inaccessible connectors, unfortunately they seem to slip off the connectors more times than not. I'm confident that it's not an issue with the transfer of gripping power but with the depth and quality of the serrations on the gripping surface.
