Man, what is it about rats and F-350 Fords? Just kidding about the Ford part, but rats climb under the hood of my 1979 F-350 and make a mess on top of the heater box. Not because it's warm as I don't drive the truck on a regular basis, but have employed the Victor traps also. Have to try the...
I'd purchased a Lincoln Viking 3350 auto darkening hood for my son a few years ago to work on a project we have. He's since enrolled in a Welding/Fabrication course at a local college and is giving it a workout. A couple months ago the lens started failing and I called Lincoln after reading they...
"I do have to admit that laying under a car for hours at a time gives you the chance to ponder important things. Most notably what a dumb idea it was to start this project!"
You're not alone there. A very rusty '59 Ranchero is sitting uncovered in my driveway awaiting more attention than it's...
Trying to be clever and piecing a puller set together, but will probably cost more than buying complete. Anyway, just need the yoke, CJ123-1.
Thanks, John
Well I'll chime in. Necessary? No. Handy for an all-in-one if you need it I guess. I've welded MIG to put beans on the table over the years and never saw anyone use them. Side cutters always fit the bill and like Corn Chip nozzles are hand tight, tips last a long time. I do use this stuff, but...
Looking for 1/2 drive SK 11/16 and 13/16 deep sockets. Knurled preferably, but not essential. Trying to fill out a $6.99 Thrift store set I bought.
Thanks, John
Glad you have another project Don. :ROFLMAO: The attention to detail and custom work on everything you do from garage equipment to vehicles is a good motivator to get off my duff on my stuff. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks, John
Thank you. Headed to my LWS for the 70S-2 who carries Pinnacle so was just curious. Figure it can't be too much different since it has to meet some content spec to qualify for each variety.
Favorite 70S-2 TIG Filler Rod? Beside being mesmerized by all of the masterful beads being laid down just wondering if the brand of TIG rod makes a difference. Probably more the skill of the welder, but thoughts?
Thanks,
John
Hi Randy,
Just couldn't remember the specifics, but that makes sense now. Yes, 73-79 are on the cab and there's a short half piece on top of the doors for 78-79. Time to order.
Thanks, John
Understand the social media deal, this is about the extent of mine. My '79 F-350 seals are dry rotted or missing so past time to get at it, but I thought I remembered you mentioning removing the doors to do it correctly, but I'm not sure why. Might be hallucinating.
Hi Randy,
See you haven't been on in a while so hope you're okay and doing something fun. Have a question about truck door seals , but maybe a PM is better for that. Thank you for all your detailed work and photos.
John
^^^^^^^ The post from PugetDude above made me laugh. I grew up in the 60s and 70s, but wasn't a hippie so I'd be good with solid colors too. Either or works fine.
John
