Atlas 6 in. metal lathe resources?

Ok I tore the whole thing apart minus the gearbox, saving that for another day, I do have one question. In reference to the Tool post swivel, how did any of you remove the pins under the set screws that hold the tool post swivel onto the compound swivel? Reference page 10 of this manual...

Yes all the change gears were included. I also got some tooling and three tool posts as well as a old script snap on Jacobs chuck.

Atlas 6 in. metal lathe resources?

I just got this off Craigslist for 250 the other day and I have started cleaning and fixing it up. Does anyone have any manual scans or know of a place I can find some for it? Any advice or conversation in reference is welcomed as well. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mechamattzilla/12269883616/...

I value your opinion- what pocket knife are you carrying?

Had this as my pocket knife for around the last 5 or 6 years at least, got it issued on a deployment and somehow managed to not have it stolen yet. I am not normally a fan of serrated knives, but you generally don't say no to free 200 dollar knives and the S30V steel holds an edge for quite awhile.

Stupid Things You See People at Work Do That Make You Shake Your Head

I am in the Military, we see our share of stupid things, but when I was in Korea the first time back in 96-97 I was walking through the motorpool and saw a SGT attempting to inflate a tire on a split-ring rim from a deuce with the ring face up, rim resting on the ground, while standing on top of...

Scored an old 8mm camera light today (shop-light)

LOL, you aren't far off, the reflector and heat sink is one solid chunk of aluminum, when the bulb heats up it puts out quite a lot of radiant heat. the plastic portions of it are bakelite though, they hold up well to the heat.

Yeah you can screw these to a welding clamp and rotate the head where you want it, great workstation light. They do get hot as all hell though.

Scored an old 8mm camera light today (shop-light)

Went junk store shopping today and found this nice 8mm movie camera light. These have a camera bracket screw on the bottom of the handle which means you can screw them to anything with a hole in it, and they are like a billion candlepower bulb. I scored this one for 3 dollars. I had to polish...
